Shawn acknowledged the RAAF fellow and obviously noticed his flirting with the french woman. Shawn then listened to the conversation between Fiona and the small woman named Elly. Shawn has a bachelors degree in physics and was/is brilliant although he doesn't show it or act it, he is a Major afterall, it may not be Colonel or General but he didn't really have to use physics in his role as an XO on the Sun Tzu and he doesn't exactly have a Ph.D or a masters degree since it seems all of the scientists do. Shawn loses his thoughts for a moment when Fiona says she only speaks, Shawn counted 5 languages. Shawn can only speak 2, English and Russian.

"Ensigne de Vassieau Maggie LeFebvre. Ryan here tells me that that's the same as your Lt." Shawn nodded, "Okay... I will call you Maggie, if that is okay, since you're not on the Sun Tzu and your rank is pretty long and well, french." Shawn said with a smile as he kind of lost his thoughts responding to her trying to remember the rank but ultimately failing to do so.

"Iceman, cold as ice. I like it. It fits for a SEAL, you have to deal with some pretty messed up things, you have to be cold." Shawn says while he takes a sip of water. Shawn tries to focus on something, anything other than the french woman.

Shawn looks at catman who looks just like any other human as far as could tell but he doesn't really care about what other guys look like, so Shawn lets his thoughts move on. Shawn smiled when the french woman said her name was barbie when she flew as a pilot, its obvious how she got that name. Shawn acknowledged the Doctors, 2 more smart people, also noticing its quickly turning into a nerd table, but so far only one nerdy conversation happening. Shawn then hears the RAAF Sun Tzu officer and quickly concludes that his jokes aren't funny, but then again he is Australian and Shawn doesn't know many of them.

Shawn lets the conversations move on around him soaking up everything like a sponge or an intelligence officer. Shawn is still getting used to aliens and being in another galaxy, being a fighter pilot on Earth then being on a large space ship running into aliens are very different and not as fun as flying a fighter jet or a B2 stealth bomber. Shawn then hears again barbie and RAAF dude flirting once again, starting to sound like high school.

Fiona swallowed, her face a bit more drawn as she looked around. People. There were more people. MALE people. Why didn't ANYONE get that her main goal in life was to be invisible?! It was the only thing she was really very good at-most everything else she just faked. She returned her attention to Elly.

The second line is Czech not Dutch... sorry I usually write in Czech and speak English, a weird habbit of mine.Well I think we do, but... I'd like to get it checked by... Dr. Black was it? before we think about that, it seems these were mostly their versions of experimental engines, not particularly practical for them, but if we can start from a point we have the materiels and knowhow to build, we might be able using their top of the line stuff as a goal, be able to get something similar made up using our own parts and control systems. It might also help us further improve our own inertial dampeners. Fee nodded.

I am confident that Dr. Black will sign off on this, and the General, as well. This is well written; if you'd like, I can route it through my NASA/NORAD programs for the actual linguistic translations. Fee wouldn't be able to do any of the ALIEN languages, but the Earth ones were no sweat; given NASA's penchant for international cooperation, they had written a program to automatically translate any language into the user's chosen first language, ie-from Spanish to English for the Western worlds, and English to, say, Chinese or Russian for the others. Fee had helped to write it, and thusly, she knew the back-doors to make it work fast and without having to set parameters. And maybe for the Czech, she could see if Skala was still with the Stargate program.

She nodded quietly to the newcomers, but ignored the Blonde Frenchwoman.

'Allo, she said, to the Doctors, Hopper, and Booth.

Hopper kept his icy expression as the Australian guy rambled about his flying days. Hopper was starting to think that everyone around here had been a pilot before they'd joined the expedition. As for the cereony part. Hopper thought that the guy wanted him to put his sidearm away. Where would he have to place it? On the ground? It simply wasn't comfortable to have it in its holster while sitting down. Besides, he wanted it ready should he need it.

Then the girl mentioned a name he hadn't heard since he left for the expedition. Corelli. Drake. Hopper and Corelli were good buddies. Back when he was still in Team Five, Corelli was the Troop commander. He was the one that, though a little late, had recommended Hopper for OCS, and the one that had assembled a Stargate Team from Team Six. They saw eachother almost every week, having a few beers and burgers from the barbecue.

"You mean 'Drake' Corelli? Yeah, he's a good mate of mine, believe it or not." he said, still not showing any emotion.

She listened carefully to Aear Explain what he had meant earlier, it was quite interesting but slightly worse off than they already had.

"How to explain the Cayak in Earth tech... She's a flying motorbike. The pulsar jumps her into the air where the wings unfold and the jet engine takes over.
" They already had anti gravity thrusters which held the 304s above the ground when they 'landed'  and they employed a similar sort of system in the F-302s, but the power requirements were to large for what they could build at this time, and hence they could only be used on the larger ships. 

"Well... Aear... we already have similar systems... the only thing is... none of ours can be powered by anything we can fit into our fighter-inteceptors, we can fit them on our battle cruisers. Is the anti gravity pulsar powered in a similar manner to those um.... what is it called.... linker cores?" She'd only heard of them because she shared a Lab with fee even the egomanical Glavish hadn't tolf her, she was reasonably expert on the power generation and explosions, after all she had helped earth secure a new way to keep supplies of naquadria up, and it had taken lots of precise power calculations and several prototype and modified naquadah generators.

Elly kept ingnoring the two flirtatious teenagers in adult bodies as Fee made her point. "I am confident that Dr. Black will sign off on this, and the General, as well. This is well written; if you'd like, I can route it through my NASA/NORAD programs for the actual linguistic translations.
" Elly looked down slightly. "My translations are probably more accurate than a computer, as some things don't translate directly or literally properly... but It can't hurt, lets jsut hope we can keep this from Glavish for a while, I hate that man." venting about your boss to a coworker was something as old as organised work and likely to continue for forever. but the fact Glavish was a egotistic pretend to know it all in a similar manner to the great Mckay from Atlantis, whoom Elly had met in passing accesing the atlantis database from Atlantis, one time and being beratted for being correct. then again the smartest people seem to be the weirdest, generally.

A couple more people came two Doctors, medical doctors she assumed. "Elly Clark, Science slash R&D" she said with a small smile to the two doctors.

Mags was almost done with her meal, and ready to ask Ryan if he were ready to move on from the Cafeteria, preferably to someplace...quieter.
The nerds were chatting now, but Hopper's words got her attention as she took a final bite of her roast.

You mean 'Drake' Corelli? Yeah, he's a good mate of mine, believe it or not... She coughed, nearly choking to death on her Diet Coke. She looked to Hopper again, and then back to Ryan.

Ryan, excuse me a moment, please. She moved closer to Tom, and then looked into his eyes. He was being truthful.

Did you call him Drake?! You must know him from his Army days...he ever tell you about an Olivia? Back when Maggie was in infantry, she did a bit of recon for a VERY short period of time, and had used the handle Olivia Montenegro. He HAD to have talked about her to his friends...right?! He'd CLAIMED to be taken with her, anyway, and didn't men compare thier women?! He's never mentioned you to ME, but he has talked about a Rafe and a Jax. She was now torn; take her new boy-toy and leave, or stay and discuss Mike and appear like the pining woman she kind of was but hated to show...

My translation program is one of the best in the world. Universe, maybe. I wrote it myself. She looked to Aear, who looked at her to calm down. Elly wasn't attacking her. She sighed. Well, we can keep it between us just for now. Glavish isn't so bad...at least when he's not trying to shoot things... Well. She didn't THINK. She'd never actually spoken to the man, but how bad could he be?

Aear watched as 'Iceman' settled in. Looks like a fight wasn't going to start but he wasn't putting Cyleo away till Iceman's sidearm was put away. He was however being distracted by Elly. Sill he kept his ears cocked to the rest of the group. Unlike human ears he could move them 180 degrees to cover any angle. Rather useful for determining where a sound was coming from.

"Well... Aear... we already have similar systems... the only thing is... none of ours can be powered by anything we can fit into our fighter-inteceptors, we can fit them on our battle cruisers. Well Linker Cores are more of a source of power, but yeah my pulsar runs on mana so it's gonna be a task refitting to run on electricity or whatever you're using.

I have a contact in the ASD. I got could get her to run a universal translation spell on it, maybe?

Aear did however notice Maggie had moved from flirting with Ryan to talking about some guy. He couldn't help but let out a small grin, and send a mental message to Maggie. You speak very fondly of this guy. Who could resist teasing in this situation?

Maggie was quickly taken with male doctor and then the SEAL, it seemed they had something or as it turned out someone in common, and the way it was turning out wasn't looking good for him, taking rejections personally was something he'd had like everyone else and probably a little more early on in his teenage years gotten used to, there was no real reason to take it far to personally besides, he did have his non sun tzu job to do.

"Aw, thanks! You flatter me. So, what's everyone up to for the rest of the day??
"

He was almost about to reply to her when she asked though in reality excused herself. he nodded beofre looking over at booth. "So Major, what did you fly back on Earth? ground strike? CAP? multi role?" He was going to avoid work related talking for the next little while, after all his afternoon was filled work again, he was going to enjoy not having to send a response to all the Australian's on this expedition about the revised uniform protocols and yet more on how to correctly wear medals, both Australina and not, it was going to be somewhat painful, and that though they technically qualified for an active service medal they were going to be issued with a generic classified operation one so as to try and keep all the stargate related operations and other secrets, secret, as much as he felt they should throw themselves over the edge and see what happens, it wasn't his call to make, nor would he want it to be.

Shawn was continuing to do what he was doing which was mostly listening, eating and drinking his water. Shawn was listening to the small woman talk about alien technology, listening to her boss respond and then listening to the cat, very strange. Shawn never really watched science fiction, he didn't have much time to and nowadays he is on an alien world sitting at an alien table with an alien... Shawn knew all about special access programs and classified projects, considering Shawn worked at Area 51 for a couple of years and with all that he still never expected this.

I was a pilot originally after my space and missile says and I flew in F-18's and a B-2 a couple of times. I was involved in mostly classified operations throughout the Middle East and Africa. When I joined AFSOC, I went to the middle east and joined the para-rescue teams in Iraq. I am surprised to still be alive, I had more than one close call and was almost a POW. How about you?" Shawn asked while drinking his water. Shawn wasn't much of a talker but he had enough of all the geek talk and enough of all of the hormones floating around the room.

Maybe being obvious with smart people still wasn't good, they all still had egos and she did especially when someone brought up her experiments.

Elly blushed a little in embarrasment, she hadn't meant to offend Fiona. "I didn't mean to say anything bad against it... it's just bad wirting habbits of mine... sorry."

"Well, we can keep it between us just for now. Glavish isn't so bad...at least when he's not trying to shoot things..." Well from what she also heard he had a almost uncontrolled hatred of all the military personel, but then again, she was a military employed civillian, and was he also in a not being payed by a nations department of defence kind of way.

However she still wanted to see what this mana was in her lagnuage, they suspected it was subspace drawn power, which while seemingly not on the scale of a ZPM might forward their reserch quite a lot. "Well Mr Aear, I beleive your Mana is still a form of power we can use, similar to the ancient ZPMs and other sub space power drawing power generators, but... less powerful. I would love to get a non helicopter boss chance to look at it, since my specialty is creating large ammounts of power, though I did it by smashing naquadah together to get naquadria..." she trailed off hoping to comfort both Aear and herself.

Might as well not make herself on the pat and mick whilst also trying to get through being social.

She was glad when Elly turned her attention to Aear.

Maggie and Thomas chatted for awhile, but Maggie quickly grew bored when Thomas seemingly remained immune to her charms. She continued to ignore the nerds; she didn't understand what they were talking about, so why interrupt?! She returned her attention to Ryan. He was chatting with Booth, and she waited for a break in the conversation. She wasn't rude, afterall.

Hey, Ryan...I am finished with my lunch, and I was wondering...do you want to go investigate that thing over in the far field? She hoped he took the hint; there was nothing over in ANY field as far she knew, she was just ready to leave this scene.

Decker leaned back a little. "Me, I've never flown a combat mission in my Earth plane, infact my only combat missions have been in F-302s and well a deadalus class vessel. I flew f/a 18s but I am also back seat qualified for the B and D models of the '18, I've spent longer under IOA command than Australian fighter command, I'm both seat qualified in the 302 as well... I've only ever flow combat missions against wraith darts and that was for mopping up, after the hive attack last year, then I had my Deadalus training and now I'm here, though I almost crashed once... no where near as exciting as you but, then again that the difference between the RAAF and the USAf, we haden't flown CAP or ground attack since Vietnam up untill 03 in Iraq, then not again since. excluding 302 flights that is."

It was then Maggie reintroduced herself. "Hey, Ryan...I am finished with my lunch, and I was wondering...do you want to go investigate that thing over in the far field?"

'Oh bugger it, I don;t expect anything more than a fling anyway.' he though to himself. He sat up. "If you'll excuse me Major."  He said before standing up and smirking at Maggie, this day was either bout to get a whole lot better or a hell of a lot worse, whats the worst that could happen right? he though before offering a hand to maggie. "I don't... maybe you just have to show me?" He teased.

Maggie flashed Ryan a megawatt smile. It was sincere enough; in this moment, at least, she DID intend to stay with just one person. And for today, at least, that was Ryan. He might'nt be Mr. Right, but he was most CERTAINLY Mr. Good Enough for Right NOW, which was just fine with her. It would be a much-needed distraction, and fun, at very least. At most, well, maybe Ryan would turn into something more.

She beamed a little brighter when Ryan excused himself to Shawn and stood up. He took her hand in his before speaking.

If you'll excuse me Major....I don't... maybe you just have to show me? She grinned like the cat who had just eaten the cocaktiel, and let Ryan lead the way before tossing a LOOK to the others assembled. Sometimes Maggie was rather like a child-showing off her "prize" like a kid on the schoolyard. She spoke to Ryan, though, hushedly.

Well, there's no field, really, that I am aware of. I just needed to get out...but maybe YOU know of someplace quiet? She flirted then, peering up through her eyelashes at Ryan.

Maggie's smiles were enticing they were certainly working overtime on the closet geek, but no matter he'd held it together for now and he was far to interested in what french women were like compared to back down, a challenge often helped bring out the best is Flight Lieutenant, and he was fairly certain Maggie would be quite a challenge. At the thoughts he was having his slightly grinned to himself as they began to walk off. Maggie looked back at the table, it seemed he'd become a trophy play thing perhaps... this certainly was a turn he may not have expected... then again at the moment this was hardly anything particularly serious... but pulling as much enjoyment as possible from it surely seemed appropriate.

Maggie spoke hushedly to him. "Well, there's no field, really, that I am aware of. I just needed to get out...but maybe YOU know of someplace quiet?
" He smiled a little perhaps he had sounded to sincere. He lean voer a little as they left the cafeteria. "I know that... and well you don't seem like one to be kept in... in many different ways," He smirked playfully. "As for someplace quiet, I don't normally come down to the city much, you got quarters?" H asked befre gazing down the flight suit, damn he still couldn't find anyone that had pulled of a flight suit quite so well, damn french women.
