How to use this form...
Thank you from all the team here at SG:M for your interest in joining our wonderful roleplaying community. To sign up and create a character simply copy and paste the form below into a new thread on the recruitment board, using your character's name as the name of the thread. Your profile application will be read by one of the staff and will be approved if all is well (or we will suggest slight changes if it needs tweaking or clashes with another character too much) and it will then be moved into the Personnel Files section. From there you may begin posting and having fun!
We strongly advise you COPY TO CLIPBOARD your entire profile once you have filled it out BEFORE hitting post. Sometimes you can be auto-logged out of the forum (time-out) whilst typing so please have this in mind.
Once you have posted the form. Please click "profile" in the top menu, and modify your profile. Your display name needs to be your character name. You also need to post a picture of your chosen celebrity as your forum avatar and use the size and width settings to adjust as you see fit (recommended size 150x150). You then need to change your personal text or "status" to put your rank, for example you can see that Jason Conway's rank is
Brigadier General (O-7) - USAF. Just enter your rank, number in brackets - company/organization you work for.
We highly recommend using the Meropis New Player Guide before filling out this form to ensure you know the rough back story, how ranks/rewards work, which avatars are taken and of course, the rules. You'll be able to confidently jump in with a full knowledge of the situation.
A note on Avatars: Where possible, try to pick a celebrity or person not of the a-list. Not only are you more likely to get you character approved straight away but this also helps to add realism to the whole feel of Meropis. After all, it can be difficult to use your imagination in a scene where we have Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson and Johnny Depp fighting the Wraith. Also note that existing Stargate main characters are not allowed.
A few pointers about the profile process;
* If in doubt. Check out any other profile in the "Personnel Files" board to see how its done.
* It sometimes helps to create a character in a field of expertise you already know a little about, but don't worry if you want to be a medic and do not have a degree in medicine! Wikipedia and encyclopedia.org are both very helpful guides for military and civilian jobs if you want to really add some meat to your back story.
* Each character you create needs to have its own forum account so we can assign ranks/awards etc.
* There is no limit on the amount of characters you can have, as long as you can keep up with posting as all of them!
* We would advise that new roleplayers stick to just one character for the duration of an episode to get used to style of the game before creating any additional characters.
* Anybody with a character that comes across as indestructible or with super-hero ablities will not be approved. Everyone has flaws, as the TV show proves, and it makes the forum more fun and the stories more interesting!

Full Name: (Your Character's Name, Place Any Nicknames in "nickname" form in the middle)
Gender: (Male or Female)
Race: (Taur'i/Human, Re'ol, Go'auld, Asgard, etc.)
D.O.B & Age: (e.g 10th March 1985 - 28)
Homeworld: (What planet your character is from)
Height: (Either ft or cm's)
Hair/Eyes/Skin: (Example - Blond/Hazel/White)
Defining Features: (Any scars or marks that make your character stand out)
Occupation & Organization: (Military, Historian, Linguist, Doctor, Jaffa, etc.) for (U.S.A.F, U.S.M.C, B.A, A.A, R.A.A.F, Jaffa High Council, Microsoft Corp, etc.)
Rank: (Make sure you've read the ranks thread and are realistic here - we don't want an 18 year old General! Include the (O-6) part of your Rank, Civilians just put as near as you would think for your specific job)
Assignment Request: (State where you wished to be assigned, SGM Exploration Team, Sun Tzu Crew, Meropis Personnel or F-302 Squadron - we will tell you where you can go from there depending on the current plot and vacancies etc)
Personal History & Skill Set: (A brief to tell us what kind of person your character is or isn't)
ATA - Ancient Gene: [Leave blank to be assigned by staff (just like pot luck in life!) - a limited number of people will have ancient gene, not everybody will be able to have it, synthetic or otherwise.]

Name & Location: (Your own name and location e.g Sam - Canada)
