Elly had spent the morning further getting into her lab of which she was quite happy to only be sharing with one quite pleasant other someon from NASA a Fiona Maccafferty, however the lack of a notable separate particle accelerator was a little bit of a problem, then again so much about this was all quite thrilling. As had been most of everything since her arrival. The morning had been spent translating some ancient experiments some of the science which she had yet to understand but that was part of the reason she was here, to figure a few of the mysteries out, even if some technicians kept bothering her about finding what was wrong with some tech because they didn't read much ancient if any at all, and Clark was by no means an expert, she knew more about their number and mathematics representations than their confusing way of writing their extremely advanced computer code but they were close, not that she didn't get to practice and expand upon her general Ancient a bit.

Carrying a print out of the first science ancient science paper she'd started with this morning which was comprised of a few large lines of ancient with plenty of space to scribble, usually into Czech then English. She almost flew into cafeteria which was quite full, after briskly walking past the line then a couple of table she spotted the person she was after, Fiona Maccafferty, and her ever faithful friend Aear Charter.
She slowed down and little and took a couple of moments to calm down.

Slowly walking over to the table she looked around firstly to the Blonde man and Woman sitting across from each other whispering, then to some other guy who was finishing introducing himself and Maccafferty and Mr Charter.

Elly moved normally to a few steps behind Fiona and Aear. “Um sorry to bother you in the middle of lunch Maccafferty... And to intrude too much to the rest of you” Elly apologised as she stepped closer and quickly sat in the chair next to Fiona.

“But you know that ancient science report I was going over this morning...” she looked around with a mix of nerves and excitement clear. “Well it was a copy of one of their early tests to build their anti gravity drive pods...”

Clark said hinting at the fact they'd yet to find a way to reverse engineer their own, that wasn't practically impossible, it mgiht also help them increase the effectiveness of their interal dampeners since it was theorized they worked in a similar manner  Elly then placed the paper on the table in front of her and smoothed some of the folds and crinkles in the paper. Elly pointed to the third line the first being the printed Ancient, the second Czech and the third being English.

"I don't have every word pinned down and I might go find someone much more an expert than me to check my work but... the general jist of it is all there."

Aear gave Maggie something of a sheepish grin as he held out his right arm instructing Cyleo to put out a magical terminal with his division's designation in both Meowtian an Communal. The Empress felt it was an appropriate name as she put me in charge. He motioned Shawn to sit next to Paul when the man asked to join them. As far as Aear had seen the man liked to keep to himself so as long as he was quiet he didn't mind. Shortly after he was followed by Elly one of the Earthican scientists that Fee and he worked with. Aear wasted no time in sliding the the paper over placing his right hand on it as Cyleo produced a magic circle for a few moments scanning the documents. Once done he slid the document to Fee and opened up another mana terminal to read it through in Meowtian.

Aear spent a few minutes reading and closed the terminal. It's a start, not perfect but it's something. I can give you the designs for the Gravity Pulsar that I built for The Cayak, you'd need an alternate power source and a replacement for the mana circuitry mind. It might help them somewhat, not exactly the right type of technology but he didn't have access to the Chou records for their version to show them. Magical technology and pure science didn't get along. Personally he didn't much care why it just made things difficult sometimes. Aear did like a good mystery after all.

The short redheaded women still seemed rather down and well again nothing in particular he could do about it. Her but Maggie helped reinforce his point, he figured that fine pysicque tool quite a lot of work, and he only hoped to appreciate it just a little more, not neccesarily all the way right now, but she sure looked quite good even in a flight suit, that still puzzeled him, how does one do that? he though to himself.

Fiona's response to his response was still that sideways defelection he now assumed was likely a defence mechanism. "Well, that's a way to looks at it...." It was indeed one way but it was his way and well he had to enjoy the fact he knew far more about the universe than some people considered far more intelligent than he was, not saying that he was by anymeans stupid or average, one doesn't get to go to another galaxy and the weapons officer of one of the most powerful space ships with some of the most powerful weapons known to man without being better than average.

The meowtian and the redhead broke off into their own little conversation and thats when he'd taken his chance to whisper to Maggie, he was quite thrilled with her response. "Thank you...and the company of a lovely Dundee, too." He smirked. now that was something. He then leant back into his chair and without taking his eyes off her had another sip of his water, screw the rest of lunch, this french pilot was far more important than food right now in the poor weapons officers male brain.

"The Empress felt it was an appropriate name as she put me in charge.
" Came the Meowtian's reply to to Lefebvre's inquiry into the noist part of his special operations division. Well that was quite an odd name for a special forces unit.

It was then his day got particularly worse. one of his immediate superiors came and sat down. 'did I just get XO blocked?' he thought to himself. "Afternoon everyone, I hope you don't mind me just taking a seat here. I don't like sitting alone. I am Major Shawn Booth, US Air Force, I am the Executive Officer on the Sun Tzu. I am new here and definitely not used to this, setting." Ryan was sure that even without flight suit and other rank insignia the man might not remember his name but would most likely remember him.

"Major," He nodded curtly to the man still not quite sititng up properly, this was afte rall a cafeteria. He wouldn;t bring up the Sun Tzu without direct questioning, he was hoping to avoid work realted conversations for the moment, well with anyone but Maggie, provided that got him further, but he still felt like the prey. The meowtian then directed the major to a seat.

It was then a short, short haired busy looking woman came to the table, he looked at her for a moment before looking back to maggie and taking yet another sip of water, if he had to this glass of water would last him as long as possible. She sure was cute the new girl, but as highly attractive as the blonde french pilot, hardly. she then present a peice of paper with atleast three different looking scripts and the last clearly being English. even if it was a little at an odd angle form where he was sitting. 

Ryan then sat up before smiling back at Maggie. then her clearly still partly full drink. "Need another drink?" he asked jiggling his glass inh is hand before finishing it as the Meowtian and the scientists went about their business talking.

Fee continued to move more of her food to Aear's tray. She realized he wouldn't eat it, but it got it the gross bits off of HER plate. Fiona maybe had a touch of OCD-she never liked her food to each other, unless they were MEANT to go together, like chips and mushy peas. Anyway, onto Aear's tray went a few grapes. Fee hated grapes; they were rather sweet, and not at all Irish-nor Bostonian. Next up for her lunch were green beans. She sniffed them, and made a face. To Aear, she spoke.

Here, YOU eat one. If you don't die, I'll eat the rest... She was really done with this meal. Wasn't the chicken enough?! She had a feeling that Aear would make her stay until she ate at least ONE more portion not counting the biscuits.

She sipped her tea as someone else joined them. Bloody hell, what'd she need, a neon sign saying leave her alone?

She thought about how to respond for a moment; Aear might kick her if she said she had no friends again.

Fiona Maccafferty. I do comms, mostly. She turned back to her lunch, and noticed that Aear had made her bean disappear. It was probably in his pocket or some nonsense, but she sighed. She was right. She took a tiny forkful of the limp vegetable and took a bite. Not TOTALLY bad, but they were well overcooked.

The others continued on in their banter as she continued to ignore everyone. A certain female voice caused her to raise her head, though.

Um sorry to bother you in the middle of lunch Maccafferty... And to intrude too much to the rest of you. Goody. A distraction; she could move the rest of the food around on her plate so it looked like she was eating ( a trick she'd learnt from her cousin Ellen, who actually DID have an eating disorder), and Aear would leave her alone finally. Elly went on. As for the Dutch, you're on your own there; I used to know a Dutch woman called Lt. Skala. I met her on something for NASA. I only speak Celtic, Gaelic, Finnish and Russian besides English. Fee said this matter of factly; not to brag, but simply to inform. She gave up on actual food and picked up a cookie.

Maggie was about to turn up the flirt when a commanding officer approached. She smiled a megawatt smile at him, though.

Afternoon everyone, I hope you don't mind me just taking a seat here. I don't like sitting alone. I am Major Shawn Booth, US Air Force, I am the Executive Officer on the Sun Tzu. I am new here and definitely not used to this, setting. She nodded.

Ensigne de Vassieau Maggie LeFebvre. Ryan here tells me that that's the same as your Lt. She indicated for him to sit near her, but not TOO close-she wasn't finished with Ryan yet.

She moved her gaze to Ryan, but was interrupted by another small, blonde nerd. What was with this?! If this was going to turn into the smart people table, she was SO going to bail.

Um sorry to bother you in the middle of lunch Maccafferty... And to intrude too much to the rest of you... Maggie ignored them-science was BORING. She turned her attention to Ryan. He stood up, and spoke.

Need another drink? She smiled a megawatt smile. How lovely, a nice man with manners.

Yes, thanks! How lovely to see that chivalry isn't dead. Diet please. She handed him her glass. This was fun, even if it was awkward with the civvies.

The Meowtian, Aear took the documents and did something to it before handing it to Fiona, well even in her short time it was clear to see he was protective of her. Elly hoped that mgiht fade if they both got to know her and trust her a little she was hardly a threat to most people, then again most people likely didn;t have the know how to go from raw naquadah to naquadria enhanced nuclear weapons like Elly did, maybe she was particularly dangarous, just in a more in a non direct manner.

Fiona however while Mr Charter was reading perhaps, caught up on Clark's babbling quickly. "Ok. Do you have enough translation that we could do a mock up or just sort of make our own??Dr. Black is fluent in Ancient language, he might be able to help. " Elly was with Finoa right until the part about the dutch, ellt resisted the urge to scratch her head.

She then guessed it might be the Czech. "The second line is Czech not Dutch... sorry I usually write in Czech and speak English, a weird habbit of mine." Elly then took a quick second to go over what she remebered and quickly peered back over at the translation. "Well I think we do, but... I'd like to get it checked by... Dr. Black was it? before we think about that, it seems these were mostly their versions of experimental engines, not particularly practical for them, but if we can start from a point we have the materiels and knowhow to build, we might be able using their top of the line stuff as a goal, be able to get something similar made up using our own parts and control systems. It might also help us further improve our own inertial dampeners." Elly finally stopped before looking to the others again, she then look back to Fiona and Aear, clearly a little excited and waiting for a reply.

The others on the table were still going about their things, something was going on between a blonde woman in a flight suit and a blondeish haired man in some camoflague pants and a grey shirt, seemed quite flirtatious, not that Elly was bothered just perhaps she had gotten in the way. Aear Finally spoke up. "It's a start, not perfect but it's something. " Elly smiled softly at the catman. "If you'd care to explain what a gravity pulsar means to you and mana circuitry mind, you might be able to help us out."

Hopper had had a particularly bad day so far. First he yanked off his team, and then he found himself reassigned to the Meropis expedition. Then, upon his arrival he was assigned to babysitting. Guarding the techies while they were exploring another lab. Just after noon it was time to get some chow. From his limited time in Atlantis he knew his way around just fine.

Arriving in the mess hall, he picked up an MRE and a bottle of water. Looking around the room, he could see little places. With just about every other table full, the Lieutenant stepped towards the table with a few women, a blonde dude and some other guy. He dropped the package on the table, followed by the bottle and finally his sidearm before he sat down.

Looking up at the other people, he said "Iceman..."

The people he was normally far more comfortable with were busy now working on how to replicate the drive pods of the Ancient vessels like the puddle jumper, something he normally would be quite interested on, but getting the pretty french pilot woman a drink was certainly on top of his list for now, maybe a few other things, but that all depended didn't it?

That smile however was just a little to much for Ryan to handle, he smiled back his face a tiny bit blushed now. 'you did it now you complete fool!' he thought as she handed him her glass. 

"Yes, thanks! How lovely to see that chivalry isn't dead. Diet please.
" He was tempted to make a joke and well he finally  took it. "I think you're FINE enough without a diet." Decker winked at her before making his way to get her another drink. his mind ticked over as he remembered that really expensive bottle of rum he'd brought all this way, he knew the french had a thing for wines, American beer wasn't that great, but a drink was a drink right? he thought as he got her another glass of diet coke, he still had a some Aussie notes with him, damn he'd never get rid of these. He thought as he handed over the weird paper like american currency.

Walking back over he handed Maggie her new drink. "Diet coke wasn't it?" He said before all that happened next was perhaps a problem, a broody semming well traveled man who sat down and uttered one one word after placing his side arm down at the table, now that was bad manners, then again the Flight Lieutenant did have his special favourite knife on him, oh well.

"Iceman" Well now was the time to take the absolute mickey out of someone way to serious for his own good, but was it worth risking dimemberment, being shot or death? perhaps.

Ryan sat back down after pulling the knife out from the thigh pocket on his left and depressing a button sending the knife forward with a metal 'shick' before setting it down on the table. He smirked slightly at Maggie before looking towards Iceman. 


"Call sign I assume since you don't seem that cool." Ryan said to the man, hoping he wasn't about to be eviscerated.

"If you'd care to explain what a gravity pulsar means to you and mana circuitry mind, you might be able to help us out."

Aear looked up at Elly. How to explain the Cayak in Earth tech... She's a flying motorbike. The pulsar jumps her into the air where the wings unfold and the jet engine takes over. Aear hoped that would explain what the gravity pulsar did. He'd only called it such because he used pulses of anti-gravity rather then a constant stream. The Cayak was his little tinker toy back home and like the ships he'd designed, one of his babies.

Aear turned around to the new comer. Some lonely soldier type that gave only his callsign. Aear couldn't help but grin, he loved playing with these types so he couln''t help but grin. He noticed Decker put a knife on the table and nodded to Cyleo. In a couple of moments a triple barrelled shotgun had formed and he followed suit. Meowman. Fee was probably the only person here that knew he couldn't use it but that didn't mean he couldn't still fight, he had enough unpowered and unarmed training to stand his ground and then some,

Maggie smiled gratefully as Ryan returned with her Diet soda. She took a big sip, and then looked up as another man approached. The air chilled a tiny bit as Ryan and Thomas eyeballed each other. Maggie took a moment to take stock of Thomas Hopper. He was a bit dishelved, and very American. She smiled. This planet was turning out to be RIFE with available men, and Maggie planned to get to know each and every one of them.

Hopper spoke, a single line of introduction.

Iceman... Maggie raised an eyebrow, then giggled.

And I thought Margureite was a terrible name. Your parents must dislike you. She hoped that she was sounding playful through her strange accent. Ensigne De Vassieu Maggie LeFebvre. My call sign was Barbie when I flew. I knew a Maverick, but never an Iceman. What the HELL was it with American pilots and really bad Tom Cruise movies?! She then looked up as Ryan spoke.

Call sign I assume since you don't seem that cool... She raised an eyebrow. There was PLENTY of her to go around. Not that she minded terribly, but still. It WAS rather childish.

From her perhiphreal, Maggie heard the nerds in chatter, but she didn't pay much attention. Instead, she pretended to be SUPER involved in her salad. Men.

[Dr. Caiden West]

Caiden has been figuring his way around the city for days and today is just another one of those days. Since Caiden is a Medical Doctor it is prudent that he knows his way around the city in case of any emergencies that need his immediate attention. Caiden isn't the best at navigating especially not in an alien city not to mention Harvard and UCLA along with Los Angeles weren't the easiest to navigate anyways. Caiden did know however that being a Medical Doctor, he should probably eat every now and again, starving himself isn't a good idea.

Caiden finds the mess hall or cafeteria, whatever you want to call it and looks at the food before making a plate and getting some coffee. There are quite a few tables and clearly only one being used. Caiden figures one more can't hurt. Caiden walks to the table and sets down his plate and coffee before sitting and looks around at his colleagues. "Afternoon, I am Dr. Caiden West, I am one of the base's medical officers." Caiden says while taking a seat.

Síobhan had pretty much locked her self away in one of the Labs since retuning back to base, it was something she was use to and also do to habit of losing all track of time by getting lost in her work. She had lost track of what day it was and when she had last eaten. The only time she had shown her head was when her pillows called out to her, she had gathered a number of new plant life and as exciting as it was she had found nothing that could solve world hunger or the common cold. All the same it had helped her to understand some of the germs native to this world.

Síobhan was lost in her own taught as she drew nearer to the cafeteria, sing London bridge to herself as her fingers tapped danced on the sided of her leg and this had made her fail to notice Caiden walking in front of her.


As she stood there watching the food, she found little of the food looking appetizing, but she knew she had little choice so she grabbed what looked less likely to cause stomach problems later and a cup of hot water for her tea. She always made sure she had her tea bag and hot water separated so it wouldn't become like tar in a cup. From habit of drinking black tea Síobhan dipped the tea bag in and out of the cup. Once or twice the tip of her fingers went in to the hot water, but she was use to it so carried on grabbing a bottle of water as she finnaly noticed Caiden. She had seen him around and spoke to him through other staff seen as they always seemed to be in opposite areas to one and other. As she approached the table she spoke in turn after Caiden


" As Dr West said, he's one of the medical staff and I'm another."

Hopper took a few bites from his lunch as he observed the group. He wasn't so sure what to think of them. Obviosuly, half of them were military as denoted by their uniforms. The other half were therefore civillians. They could probably hold their own in a fight if they really had to. He artificed a smile at the blonde guy, at his comment. Maybe he should have given his name as well. He was not used to doing this. Where he came from, everyone went with their callsigns, rather than their names.

Then the blonde female spoke. She gave her name and rank, and from what she said, Hopper assumed she had been a pilot in the past, which was confirmed when she actually said she used to fly. She must have thought he was one too. "It's my name as much as the one my parents gave me. And I am not a pilot. I am a SEAL... Lieutenant, Junior Grade, Thomas Hopper, United States Navy." he said.

The civilians msot of whoom seemed to be of the far more intelligent kind were still off doing their thing, finguring out the universe and probably better ways of killing people, something he knew first hand Humans were particularly good at. 

"And I thought Margureite was a terrible name. Your parents must dislike you.
" Well perhaps his comment wouldn;t go down too padly, cool was the wrong term for people like him, cold was far more accurate but still, the mickey must be taken from them every now and then.

"Ensigne De Vassieu Maggie LeFebvre. My call sign was Barbie when I flew. I knew a Maverick, but never an Iceman.
" Ryan half suppressed a laugh. Man that movie was pretty bad, badly good perhaps.

Two Doctors approached, A Dr West and a Dr kells well, now he'd just do a big introduction. 

"It's my name as much as the one my parents gave me. And I am not a pilot. I am a SEAL... Lieutenant, Junior Grade, Thomas Hopper, United States Navy."
 Ah, a SEAL, that was a good explaination, this man had probably killed more people than nuclear weapons ever had and could find a way to strangle you with air.

He smiled at Hopper. "My poor attempt at taking the mickey, don;t worry, cool still not approriate, I assume you wont taking being a cold killing machine personally?" Ryan shook his head lightly. "Flight Lieutenant Ryan Decker, RAAF, flying well I hope people wont judge me for star wars references, but I flew mostly as opfor during training missions, and as second so red two, so I was Wedge, and I was a pilot, but big space ships with laser beams and nuclear weapons are a bit more exciting than RAAF Hornets." Decker finished off with the cultural 'leftenant' in his rank.

Ryan picked his knife up, folding it closed before stuffing it back into a thigh pocket. "Though I'm particularly unfond of ceremony, and this is a mess hall... iceman." And Maggie's call sign was barbie, well it was kind of accurate, she seemed the one to present that nicely controled female exterior... but she certainly didn't have the insane proportions of that doll, not that not having them was a bad thing, infact it was certainly a good thing. He looked over at Barbie/Maggie with a weak smile, she seemed keenly interested in her salad. "Barbie... hmmm I can somewhat see why, though those toys got nothing on you." Well now he had to hope it all went down well enough.

Maggie tried to feign interest in her food to avoid further conversations with everybody but Ryan. She was fascinated; Maggie probably had a bit of ADD and it was interesting to her that he seemed so enamored with her so quickly.

She was distracted by the doctors.

Afternoon, I am Dr. Caiden West, I am one of the base's medical officers.... As Dr West said, he's one of the medical staff and I'm another.[/color] She glanced up. Hubba. If THAT guy was one of the docs, she had Dengue fever, or she would, damn fast. She smiled, though.

Maggie Lefebvre. Pleased to meet you... She turned her attention back to Ryan, and then to Hopper.

Oh, my exboyfriend was a SEAL before he joined the FBI. Mike Correlli...I don't suppose you know him?! On the one hand, she kinda hoped someone DID, so she could discuss him. On the other, she kind of hoped NOT, because that would be sort of embarassing. She couldn't help herself, though. She really needed a distraction from Mike. Like Ryan. Or Hopper. Or, hell, even the alien kid.

Ryan came to her rescue then.

Barbie... hmmm I can somewhat see why, though those toys got nothing on you. Maggie smiled.

Aw, thanks! You flatter me. So, what's everyone up to for the rest of the day??
