Military Ranking Structures
This is the same for Atlantis and the SGC. Most of the base personnel are U.S.A.F but of course, it is an international expedition so you can expect to see some U.S.M.C, R.A.A.F, R.A.F and other countries in there.
Below are the two main military organizations used in the SGC and their rank structure. Of course there is nothing stopping you using another country but please check here for their ranks.

For realism purposes nobody may join as anything above rank (O-3) or (GS-11) unless otherwise prior agreed with an admin or moderator. We often find a lot of people will join up as high ranking officers right off the mark. So places are limited. If you would like to be higher, state in applying and we will see what we can do. Pilots and Medical Officers are different. If you wish to be one simply state on joining and the rank will be decided upon application.
Below are the rank structures with rank codes and then titles.

Civilian Ranks
The SGC operates a ranking structure for the many civilian staff involved as well. The SGC along with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the International Oversight Advisory have determined and signed off this ranking system to be efficient and accurate for the Triangulum Project. This system helps to determine pay and authority levels among other things. Upon joining the expedition you will be assigned a rank accordingly, entry level positions are normally within the GS 1-7 area.
NB: GS stands for General Schedule. SES stands for Senior Executive Service.
It should be noted that civilian rankings AND military rankings work on the same authority, sorry enlisted military personnel, you will have to take orders from people like the civilian leader.
Ranks and promotions are awarded based on quality, quantity and content of posts within Meropis and how well your character does on missions.
Below is the rank structure with the Civilian rank and then the U.S.A.F & U.S.M.C equivalent - in order to give you a rough idea. Your civilian ranks do not come with titles as your title is whatever your civilian character specializes in. Ranks are also allocated on skill not age and length of service.
