Stock Market - Part of the Meropis v2.0.1 Upgrade
Each post in the mission thread or out of mission roleplay boards will earn you $5 while posts in the General category will earn you an extra $1. Each month active members will also receive a 10% bonus as their character's wages. In the bottom left corner you should see an icon for your bank (a piggy bank) where you can deposit or withdraw money from your "wallet". There is also an icon for the stock market (a little chart) where you can buy or sell shares in the companies displayed below.
Stock market companies set in the Stargate Universe;
Apple Inc (AAPL)
Apple Inc. is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software and personal computers. Many of the Expedition members use Apple products.
Starbucks (SBUX)
Starbucks Corporation is an American global coffee company and coffeehouse chain based in Seattle, Washington. Several members of the Meropis Expedition appear to be rather fond of their products and order long-life items on the canteen supplies when possible.
Dell (DELL)
When the Meropis expedition arrived at the city-ship, a number of Dell laptops were brought through to allow the expedition to properly use and access the Ancient computers. Most of the science team are issued Dell Axim handheld x51 computers.
eBay Inc (EBAY)
The company eBay Inc. is an American multinational Internet consumer-to-consumer corporation, headquartered in San Jose, California. Want something cheap? Buy it on eBay!
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC)
The Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) are responsible for a vast amount of the technologies and systems in the BC-304 vessels as well as that used by NASA, the International Space Station and the Meropis and Atlantis Expeditions. The company recently signed a contract with the US Navy’s SPAWAR organization. The company maintains a great relationship with the government and gets contracts easily, but increasing competition from other firms do present some risk.

Exxon Mobil Corp., or ExxonMobil, is an American multinational oil and gas corporation headquartered in Irving, Texas, United States.
Google Inc (GOOG)
Google is an American multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products. These include search, cloud computing, software, and online advertising technologies. Most of its profits are derived from AdWords. Never Google "Google".
Hewlett-Packard (HPQ)
Hewlett-Packard Company or HP is an American multinational information technology corporation headquartered in Palo Alto, California, United States. Some of HP's technology has been used within the Meropis Expedition.
International Bus (IBM)
The International Business Machines Corporation is an American multinational technology and consulting corporation, with headquarters in Armonk, New York, United States. IBM machines are used for the Meropis internal email servers.
Microsoft Corp (MSFT)
Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Redmond, Washington, that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers and services. Some of the systems on the Meropis Expedition computers rely on Microsoft Corp software.
Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT)
Lockheed Martin Corporation, a security and aerospace company, is engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and maintenance of advanced technology systems and products worldwide. The company serves both domestic and international customers with products and services that have defense, civil, and commercial applications, with its principal customers being agencies of the U.S. Government. The company’s main areas of focus are in defense, space, intelligence, homeworld security, and information technology, including cyber security.
Kramer Innovations Inc (KMI)
Kramer Innovations Inc. is a corporation on Earth, which aided Dr. Malcolm Tunney in creating a matter bridge. He was also allowed to use one of their facilities in either Nevada or Arizona to conduct his presentation/experiment. The owner and head of the corporation is Terrence Kramer.
Zephyr (ZYR)
Zephyr is an aeronautics firm with access to particular bits of information connecting with the F-302 fighter-interceptor project. This firm has been commissioned by the Gate Alliance Treaty to work on top-secret projects, such as the creation of interstellar battle cruisers.
Colson Industries (COL)
Colson Industries is a large multi-national conglomerate created by an American businessman named Alec Colson. Colson Industries aided in the Antarctica cleanup of wrecked Goa'uld and Earth craft that had recently engaged in battle over the Atlantis outpost, though they were not informed that most of the debris was of alien origin. Colson Aviation developed the multi-engine control (M.E.C.) systems for the F-302 fighter-interceptor. While Alec Colson was being told the truth about the Stargate program, it was revealed that there were financial irregularities at Colson Industries. The stock fell drastically, prompting a trading freeze at stock exchanges. The United States Congress provided aid and the company survived and has provided further developments toward the BC-304 deep space carriers.
Hansford Technologies Inc. (HT)
Tony Hansford created Hansford Technologies after years of gathering funding from sources his wealthy parents had found for him. With nearly $2 Billion dollars of startup funding he was able to purchase assets to build his company on and expand. Hansford was awarded contracts with the Department of Defense, manufacturing weapons and researching advanced technology which were later used for the benefit of Homeworld Command. In 2007 the company was brought on board and briefed on the Stargate Program. They were later commissioned to supply equipment and technology for The Sun Tzu, The George Hammond and the Meropis Expedition with Hansford himself joining the expedition as a consultant.
