Pilot Episode: One Way Trip aka Episode One: One Way Trip

The IOA and the Joint Chiefs of Staff have made their decision. The Triangulum Project has a green light and has been 75% funded by the Chinese Government. An international expedition has been handpicked and gathered at Stargate Command to set off to the Triangulum Galaxy to find Meropis. The hope is that the team find another ancient city/outpost and can bring home technologies and medicines for the benefit of Earth.

All crew are made aware of Dr. Daniel Jackson's research on Meropis and that it is in fact believed to be an experimental ancient city left behind by the Alterans. Recent finds in the Atlantis database have recorded that Meropis is intact but merely abandoned and that most of the technology in Meropis is a pre-cursor to the more polished versions in Atlantis. It was an experiment built by a small group of Alteran scientists. It is not known what state it is in or if we will be able to gate back to Earth when we get there.

The expedition, led by Brigadier General Jason Conway. Is set to leave earth on the brand new BC 304, Sun Tzu. Things are getting hectic during preparation. Who knows what they will find when the expedition gets there. Consider this time a chance to meet the people on the expedition with you, after all - they are your family from now on.

Your objectives are to simply follow orders aboard the Sun Tzu and work co-cooperatively with the Chinese crew. It will take roughly five weeks to reach the Triangulum Galaxy using the Asgard hyper-drive for the entire trip. Once in orbit above the planet Meropis is supposedly on, it is all hands on deck to set up a base of operations. Meanwhile, if all is well, the Sun Tzu will be gone for another ten weeks to travel to Earth to relay a mission success, restock, refuel and rearm with supplies to head back.

Episode One Overview

After many cramped weeks aboard the Sun Tzu the team finally dropped out of hyperspace over Meropis. Or at least the planet where Meropis is supposed to be! It was not there. Intensive scans of the surface revealed two strange energy signatures where the city could potentially be hidden, a team was beamed to one while the F-302s dispatched over to the other location.

Upon arriving the 302s encountered some very nasty large insect like creatures and a giant bear, all not very pleased to see them. But no sign of the city. The group that had beamed down stumbled across a very large clearing and it wasn't until Warrant Officer Evans actually fell into Meropis that they realized they had found it! It had been cloaked the whole time.

A mysterious scout ship appeared above the planet in low-orbit, using some weird different form of hyperspace, and began scanning the Sun Tzu. Shortly after a much larger ship turned up and hailed the ship, demanding they surrender to the Etruscan God Laran. Commander Riley recalled the F-302s and defied surrender. Not aware of enemy firepower but confident in the new 304's ability. Planetside, Conway split the groups into two parties. One party found the control room, after going past several strange rooms containing strange devices, and managed to activate the city's power. The city of course being abandoned so long that it shook awake and caused a tunnel collapse where the other group were lower in the city.

In space the enemy "Etruscan" vessel launched some sort of fighters against the Sun Tzu. Riley fought back with the 302s as well as firing all batteries, they managed to win the battle by beaming a nuclear warhead near to the enemy ship's shields, close enough to cause disruption for two brave fighters to get missiles in and disable the enemy weapons. Planetside, Conway's group managed to blast their way out of the rubble using some well placed C4, not without Conway having a broken arm though. Unbeknownst to the crew, several fail-safes had activated across the city. The most noticeable being the gas that sprayed into both Gate Ops and the Control Room. Several expedition members fell ill with the "Su Raan" virus which had been previously encountered in Atlantis. The expedition's Chief Medical Officer was able to administer a cure and set up an impromptu infirmary, everybody regrouped in the Gate Room and began setting up Meropis as a working base.

The enemy cruiser eventually fled the battle, leaving the Sun Tzu wounded and in need of repairs. With the enemy out of the way and the Meropis cloak lowered. Riley began the beaming down of personnel and supplies before landing the Sun Tzu on one of the city's land-piers for urgent repairs.

It was discovered after setting up that Meropis could not dial Earth using it's Stargate but could in fact establish a temporary, albeit power draining, connection to Atlantis. Relaying a message via Atlantis to the SGC they received a congratulations on their success and a list of scientific standing orders to carry out over the next six months.

Well done guys! Episode one was brilliant, we all had a great time and now I'm pleased to announce that Episode Two is right around the corner. That in mind here are the major updates between one and two.

• Another Update. Due to the Chinese and the Russians disclosure and involvement in the IOA and Stargate Program. The IOA has agreed to give the Chinese one the ships. It is with bitter teeth that we are forced to admit that the Sun Tzu is now being renamed the Sun Tzu. However, Commander Riley will still be in command. Some of the crew will be replaced with Chinese expedition members, all those affected will be notified in due course.
