Decker had spent most of this morning on board the Sun Tzu both arriving on it and then going through as much of his paperwork as he could, he'd gotten through all the rush requests and personnel type work out of the way, now he was expecting someone, the Sun Tzu's new Navigation officer, but more so he was here to meet the person, RAN Sub Lieutenant Catarina Caetano, a person he hoped would only continue to add to the skill and overall team work of the bridge crew. She didn't exactly have the background of most of the the men and women of the ADF who got assigned to Meropis, but neither did he.

The political situation back on Earth had deteriorated in relation to Meropis recent events in Pegasus had shown that place was still the main concern outside the milky way. Having brought up her service record he went through it again, starting of with a gap year as a seamen on a patrol boat followed by ADFA and then another year on patrol boats, mostly from what he could read in her record she was one of the best cadets at ADFA and had excelled as both a seamen and an officer, not to mention being able to pass the background and security clearance required to even be selected. It seemed even in the training for space service she'd been the best at that. Mostly Ryan was glad he would have another skip on the bridge.

Soon enough the young brunette appeared outside his door. Looking up from the tablet infront of him he waved her in. "Come in Sub Lieutenant oh and at ease, we'll save the ceremony for the yanks." Standing up as he spoke he extended a hand over the simple desk in front of him. Some questioned his command style, but he'd managed to calm Chambers down, he had to be doing something right.

Catarina was still new here, and had waited just over a week for Sun Tzu to return from her patrol. When she did, though, Catarina was immediately taken aboard for a quick tour of the facilities. It was all quite impressive -She had never expected humanity to have a presence in space in this manner. Aboard space ships, fighting space aliens!-, and most impressive of all had been the bridge, with the most advanced navigation systems that existed. The young Sub-Lieutenant could not wait till she got to play with those.

For the moment, however, she'd been transported back to Meropis in order to collect the stuff she'd brought along to be relocated to her permanent quarters aboard the ship. One good thing about having a senior position -despite not being senior in her career-, was that she did not have to share her new room. Not that she minded of course, but there was a certain comfort to having a room all to oneself. Packing went quite quickly. She didn't bring a whole lot, and apart from a few personal items hadn't bothered to unpack yet. If there's one thing her service aboard Patrol Boats taught her, it would be to pack light...

Catarina looked at the watch on her right wrist. Eleven. With everything ready, she locked the door to the temporary rooms at Meropis, and headed to the office of one Decker. As she arrived there, she used the door chime, and was then told to enter. Before she could do so, Decker told her not to stand at attention, and she smiled a little at the comment regarding the Yanks. They did like their ceremony, but then again, so did the pommies. "Flight Lieutenant" Catarina said by way of greeting.
