EP 6- Eye of the Storm (Jumper Rescue Team)

Collins the rest of the volunteers and the 'volunteer' quickly made their way down to the jumper bay He had briefly stopped by the armory near the jumper bay to grab a vest a P90 a few magazines for that and a few extra magazines for his sidearm. Almost jogging into the jumper bay he was finishing up doing up the vest and attaching the P90 via its sling to the vest. "Sir," He sort of turned toward Commander Hawkins. "I'll get the jumper ready to go while we wait for the rest of the rescue team and whatever we bring along." He quickly moved into the jumper and sat down at the controls. He took a deep breath and held the control yoke, the ship went from standby to fully on very quickly, powering up. 

Ethan went through pre-flight very quickly, quicker than he had before, but he was aware now here near a record. A few moments later with the Jumper ready he turned and looked over his shoulder. "Ready and waiting Sir." He was being careful to control his thoughts so he thought about a life signs detector and map, one appeared in front of him and with a thought it created a flight plan of where and how to get to where they needed to go. Once every one was in and all their things aswell he radio flight control. "jumper five to flight control we are ready permission to take off?"

Trading in his stethoscope for an M4 carbine. While he hadn't actually turned the stethoscope in, it had found its way into his aid bag, and the sling to the M4 had taken its place. Grabbing the provided magazine from the counter, William seated it into the magazine well and grabbed the charging handle, pulling it to the rear hard he checked the chamber. Before releasing the bolt into battery, he walked to the loading drum and inserted the muzzle and slapped the bolt catch, listened and watched as the first round of the magazine was seated into the chamber. Tapping the forward assist to ensure it was seated, he placed the safety on his weapon in the safe position and let it dangle from it's sling as he went about securing the rest of his gear. Satisfied he had everything he needed, he quickly did a pat down check,'M4, sidearm, mags, gear, more gear and more gear. Check, check, and check.'

Swinging his aid bag up onto his shoulder he jogged into the Jumper Bay and made his way to the waiting Jumper - running up the ramp he greeted the ops commander, "Sir," he said as he moved to take a seat on the bench seat at the side of the craft, ready to go and from the sounds of things, they were about to shove off anyways.

Grover gave his permission for Jaya to go along, saying he had a handle on it. She nodded, and suited up properly-she usually just stashed her P-90 under her console, and the dungarees she wore were kind of wrinkled since she just recycled yesterday's. The Air Force was a bit more lax in it's uniform standards than the other services-after all, they preferred brains to brawn, so as long as you were clean, in uniform, and not being a total airhead, you were pretty much cool. She stepped into the jumper, took a seat, and looked around. She was the only female, the lowest enlisted, and the youngest. Nice. It was ALWAYS her. Damn her stupid conservative upbringing and her's mother's manners. Being "good" was gonna get her killed.

She was the last one on the Jumper, but the women's locker room was on the other side of the jumper bay-no doubt designed by a guy. She heard the "Sirs" from the others as they presented, and then she went.

Captain Collins, sir. Staff Sgt. Jaya Bakshi, reporting for duty. Did that sound totally moronic?! Oh, well. She just hoped this Collins guy was chill enough to ignore the Bindi she'd forgotten to remove. Grover allowed it due to her culture, but some of the higher ups were by the book. At least she'd not turned up in her Sari sash...she'd made THAT mistake already. No one at Great Lakes had thought it was funny. She wasn't really a practicing Hindi, but she still valued her family's heritage. It had been her first taste of censorship, but she had been too young to know to fight for herself. Up here, though, people seemed pretty open, so she wasn't too worried.

She waited for lift-off. Hopefully this pilot was as good as he was supposed to be, 'cause even though she was in the Air Force, her brain had failed to deliver THAT message to her stomach, and sometimes she got airsick.

Hawkins was the first to step into the Jumper. Of course, he couldn't do much with it. But that wasn't the point he was trying to make. He lead by example. First in, last out. Always. A Captain turned towards him. The Commander didn't know the man. In fact, he didn't know anyone with him right now. He was the only man from the Sun Tzu here. The Captain wanted to get the Jumper ready. "Do that, Captain. I want to go the moment the last person's in." he said.

Within minutes, everyone arrived. The Sergeant he'd spoken to earlier. Another guy, and two Marines. They were ready to go. "Alright, Captain, let's get this show on the road" Hawkins said before he sat down in the front right seat.

It seemed the Commander was alright with him getting it ready, as everyone got in he kept his focus away from the strange flashes of different places and the wash out at the edge of his vision it was going to be hard enough for him to fly the Jumper through just the physical storm, the added mind bending radiation was going to make it somewhere much closer to impossible.

"Captain Collins, sir. Staff Sgt. Jaya Bakshi, reporting for duty." he turned around and there was a scene he didn't seem to understand, the Jumper and it's occupants had transformed a little, everyone still looked like them, their uniforms, he looked down and his had changed, they were different whites and creams instead of the greys and blacks of the expedition uniforms. 

"Take a seat in the back." Ethan finally said as the Staff sergeant changed back to 'normal' that was weird. One everyone was on board he looked over to the Commander. "Alright, Captain, let's get this show on the road" He nodded and opened the jumper bay roof as the piloted the jumper off the floor and upwards.

Once they exited the hanger and he issued the command to closer the hanger bay doors he located the other team on his Jumpers HUD before setting course at best speed as he also adjusted the inertial dampeners to help reduce the effects of the storm mostly on flying but also one everyone else. He also radio the base. "Jumper five is in the air were on our way to the stranged team ETA, uh... 5 to 10 mikes."
