Briefing Room
Meropis
Val was entirely unimpressed by the speed with which this was moving. Didn't they get how SERIOUS this was?! She was a bit surprised that the JAG woman had had her T's crossed and I's dotted; bucking for a promotion, were we?! She eyeballed the Marine.
I read his preliminary reports. There is no concrete evidence, no. There's only rumors, and whispers. The IOA and Homeworld Command are taking the allegations very seriously, and I suggest we do, as well. Not to be accusatory, here, Captain Jones, but from my professional point of view-make sure your nose is clean. They will come looking, and any hint of ANYTHING amiss will send off warning bells. What I want to know is has anyone actually spoken to either Major Callaghan or this MacManus character?! The fact that Major Callaghan defended him says something to ME. And to Val, as well. She'd start there.
The others went back and forth for a bit, while Val typed an email to HQ, requesting that they send her files on this Major John Callaghan, and that she expected to have them by the end of business. She did not CARE about thier bulls*it reasons that she was on a different planet; they could bring it through the Gate, like SHE got here. Anything else meant that that was one more day a potential spy walked among them, and that was simply inexcusable. She clicked off her tablet computer as the General excused them. Wait, what?! But she'd not had a chance to speak to anyone. Fine. She stood, and got her things, following the female Marine out of the room. She intended to start with interrogations that very moment, but the JAG had a different idea. She interrupted.
Excuse, Captains. Perhaps you can show me a briefing room Icould use to speak with Major Callaghan. I would also appreciate it if one of you could order him BACK here to answer me. Thanks. With that, she stalked off to the bathrooms. She wasn't actually ASKING, anyway.
