Episode Six - Senior Command Meeting

First to arrive for the meeting was Brigadier General Jason Conway, the expedition leader in chief and in his mind, the man with the heaviest burden to carry. He was reluctant to call this meeting, even more reluctant was he to have two armed airmen stationed within the room, but something was not right. There was dissent among the ranks, rumours of a Lucian Alliance spy and given what happened to the crew of the Destiny, he simply couldn't risk leaving anything to chance. So he'd called the senior command to this meeting, along with two counter-intelligence operatives he'd tasked with fact finding. Conway had many, many wheels spinning and it was quite a common thing for him to have plans underway that not even his most trusted advisers knew, this meeting however, couldn't be like that. It was time to put all the cards on the table and see where the chips fell.

As the others began to filter in and take up their seats, Conway greeted them and flicked through the daily briefing. SM-2 had left last night on their covert op to Eros. The General knew what they were doing there, he'd sent a man full of red mist to strike back at his enemy, he also had a good idea of what the team might find when they got there but really hoped his suspicions wouldn't be confirmed. While that was running, he noted the briefing file on the mysterious girl, Hanyuu. SM-4 had accidentally activated a stasis chamber off-world and had brought back the girl in the early hours of the morning, Meropis was a hive of activity 24/7 and this had all happened while he slept. Conway had grown concerned at the connection with Lilith and stasis chambers, but he needed to know more before he could make a decision on what to do about it. Hopefully this mysterious girl held the proverbial key to Lilith's city. He turned the page and noted Major Eastlyn was leading her team to investigate the dinosaur world and subsequent Lilith lab, another plate the General had set spinning, he'd chosen the team members for that one very carefully. Finally, he'd just received word that Dr. Rodney McKay had arrived on the Apollo. He made a mental note to greet the man after this meeting and fill him in, McKay's first hand experience with an Etruscan could prove useful to their mission.

And that's all it came down to in the end, the mission. To open and maintain diplomatic negotiations with other worlds and obtain technologies to help defend Earth against the Goa'uld, the Ori and other aggressors. While the former enemy now seemed placated, the other aggressors category officially contained the word "Etruscan" as of last week. But how could they defend Earth if they couldn't defend themselves?

The other individuals were now present and accounted for, and having taken their seats, Conway got the meeting started.
"Good Morning. Sorry to call you all away from your current duties, and thank you all for attending on such short notice. We'll skip the daily briefing for now, you've all received notes, I trust." He cleared his throat and set the file to once side, clasping his hands together on the table in front of him he got right on with it, "I wish to discuss a matter which concerns me greatly. Agents Hart and Olwin here have been tasked with research of each and every member of our expedition. Not only based on former Sergeant McManus' accusations, I have reason to suspect a spy among our ranks." He paused to let that sink in before putting the full stop on the end of his sentence,
"It could even be somebody in this very room."

Being the legal officer of a rag-tag team of both military and civillian personnel from all walks of life, from all over the globe (hell, all over the UNIVERSE), and also trying to keep her own head in the game was kind of a lot for most women. However, Kelly Ann Miller was no regular woman. She was a Marine, and a commanding officer, and she was a professional, anyway. She was moving quickly through the halls; making her way to the command room for a quick staff meeting before the meet and greet with the IOA people and this Dr. MacKay. She knew how serious this was; she and Jason had had a bit of discussion about it the night before at chow, and she'd done her best to reassure him. It had to suck being the Head Cheese; she knew for sure she could handle a promotion, but she had no desire to be the actual CO of the whole base. No thanks.

She shook her head a couple of "her" Marines; she was, after all, the highest-ranking Marine on base, so they were all hers, weren't they?! She spoke lightly.

Good morning, Sargents. Let's find something to do; the ladies can wait! The two young men were gawking openly at a couple of the females. Not that she blamed them, but really, did they need to be so obvious?! At least they were in uniform, and squared away. She moved on; nodding once to the team heading for the jumpers. She'd had to laugh when Lt. Lefebvre blew in this morning, typing up some forms. The woman was TRYING hard, and she just hoped that the others could be encouraged to believe it. She and Conway had been working with Harrison to help the young woman, and while she suspected that Maggie was involved with someone on the base-always disappearing for a few hours at various times, returning smelling-and looking-like a good time had been had. She had her suspicions about WHO, but she'd not yet shared them because she had no proof, and she wasn't a gossip, besides. She'd told Jason of her suspicions, but they hadn't yet agreed on a plan of action-not there was much they COULD do unless one or the other was caught or something. But at any rate, it was nice to see the girl was taking her life seriously for once. It made Kelly feel like she was helping a bit.

Finally, she let herself in the briefing room, and, saluted. Conway just nodded, so she slipped into a chair. From her briefcase, she extracted her notes, the files that Conway had sent the team, and her own personal notes. Above the manila folder, she placed a pen, and next to that, her hat cover, folded carefully. She stood, helped herself to some coffee, and then finally acknowledged the man across from her.

Want to talk about it, Flyboy? She offered the Air Force general. Normally, she would keep the jokes to herself, but they were alone for the time being, and of the same peer group, so she felt OK. Plus, he WAS sort of good looking, and the two were forming a friendship. She just hoped he'd talk, not be one of those idiot sulky types that didn't say anything until thier lid blew and she was forced to hold him in a headlock and go all Drill Instructor. So far, he'd proven himself to be fairly intelligent for a male, so she had hope.

Val was very much unimpressed by this Meropis. It was dirty, and small, and not well organized. She'd managed to more or less take over the JAG office, and while she HATED Maggie, the woman was handy to fetch things and distract Agent Hart. Maggie had changed quite a bit since Val's last run in with her; Mike was apparently a better influence than she originally thought.

She finished reading the files, and then took her coffee and headed for the meeting room. She was going to be investigating some allegations made against the XO of the mission, and she was looking forward to starting the investigation. Mostly so she could FINISH it and then go home.

She walked in, and noticed the female Marine sitting close to Conway. Hmm. She raised an eyebrow, but the two ignored her. She shook her head, but settled in. She noticed the JAG had come well organized, and that pleased Val. She spoke.

Good morning. Agent Hart is late; do you know if that's a habit of his? She was very much unimpressed by her little underling, as well. There were DEFINITELY some personnel problems around here, and she fully intended to make some changes.

Liam was turned around and he'd hate to use the word lost... but yeah Meropis wasn't exactly like any city or mall where you can easily find your way around, nope it is a maze. Liam is usually good at mazes and solving puzzles and solving almost any case he was handed. From chasing down criminals, terrorists and drug lords with BORTAC to solving rapes, homicides and larceny cases with the OSI this assignment was definitely different, to him as was working with alien hybrids... in Iraq of all places.

Liam received an email from Captain Miller who alerted Liam to the possible spy on Meropis of course the person making the claim was apparently a nut case, and a highly unstable nut case at that. Liam looked into the XO of Meropis and Major Callagham the now leader of SM-2. Liam researched everything he could back on Earth before getting here but the XO did receive extra scrutiny because he is a Tok'ra, there were spies in their ranks before and who knows that could be a Goa'uld in disguise trying to find out what he can and use something to his advantage to reclaim his Goa'uld empire or whatever he may have had before the Free Jaffa uprising.

Liam when he finally found he was totally lost, he encountered a Marine who told him the way to get to the briefing room of course being in Border Patrol you'd expect he'd know but nope the desert is totally different than an ancient alien city on an alien planet in a totally different galaxy...

Liam walked into the room and saw a few people, Captain Miller, General Conway and the woman who'd he rather forget, "I guess I am not as late as some people... you should really put up a map or something around the base, General. You know like they have in the malls back home. That'd be nice." Liam said as he looked to the General before looking at Captain Miller, "Captain Miller, I presume. Special Agent Hart, OSI." Liam introduced himself then looked to Val. "Val..."

Jason allowed a smile to seep through the cracks as Miller took her seat, quite frankly he was grateful of her support. If they managed to undo this mess and walk out of it with everyone's name intact he'd have to buy her a nice bottle of wine, or whisky if he could bare to part with it. The General glanced up from reading through the extensive briefing document that had been prepared as Agent Olwin entered the room, he chose to ignore her comment about Agent Hart, who entered a minute or so after her. The document contained all of their files, an unusual move to disclose one's own files to them, but needs must in this situation, the cards had to be played.

As it happens the research seemed to be going in the right direction, there was no evidence to implicate Achilles Jones or Arson of any wrong doing, even papers on his time at Home World Command came up squeaky clean and covered in trophies. This still left a few unanswered questions, they knew somebody was on the inside here, working for somebody else. Information was being leaked, extra encrypted data was found attached to some of the burst transmissions back to the Milky Way. There was of course, the matter of an unexplained dial out just last week to a barren Milky Way planet. Nobody had ordered it, and nobody in the control room knew why it had happened. They'd shut the wormhole down immediately but research had revealed a subroutine. What nobody but the individuals attending this meeting knew was that the wormhole had sent sensitive information about Meropis to an unknown receipt. Conway hadn't yet disclosed this to his bosses, he hoped to get a handle on it before it got that far.

Not wanting to cause tension in the room, and he was sure it was just unfortunate, Conway looked up at the others and spoke,
"I believe we're just waiting for Michael Hurley, Shawn Booth to represent the Sun Tzu if they choose to attend and..." he cleared his throat, "Our expedition executive officer..." He left the sentence hanging in the air. It wasn't that they were about to interrogate Achilles, in fact far from it they needed his help, it was just that this had all started after the finger had pointed at him. Conway wondered what Jones had found out as well, he knew that Arson was intelligent and would have a different way of perceiving the body language of expedition members.

Shawn got a good night of sleep, which was a shock to him in his new surrounding when he finally heard his alarm clock. He slept in later than he was supposed too. He turned off the alarm clock, that being his watch. He hustled and took a quick shower, brushed his teeth and started to get dressed in his flight uniform which was the only uniform he has with him. He got his things together and quickly headed out to the briefing.

The night before, he found the briefing room so he knows exactly where to go this morning. He hopped in the transporter room thing and came out near the briefing room where he quickly walked too and walked in seeing everyone, "sorry I am late, sir." The Major said with a quick little salute, he is an Air Force General afterall and he moved to an empty seat and sat next to Agent Hart, a man he knows well from his time on the Sun Tzu and before that from the SGC. "Morning, Liam." He said as he took a seat and he was ready for the briefing.

Carrying his usual armful of briefing folders, Chief Hurley ducked through the doorway and made for his seat without fanfare. He'd been reviewing promotion packets after breakfast, and while he'd left with plenty of time to make the briefing, had been pulled up by a base warrant officer and copped an earful of complaints about a dressing down the man had gotten from a junior lieutenant. As the CCWO, it was his job to make sure all the Chiefs and WOs were treated with the respect they deserved. He'd noted the lieutenant in questions name, and was looking forward to dishing out a dressing down of his own.

Like everyone else in the room, Hurley had read the plethora of memos and briefs about the actions and accusations of the now-traitor Sergeant McManus. As far as Michael was concerned, it was tough to say if McManus had been telling the truth or playing psychological warfare with them. The possibility of a traitor in their midst was almost as damaging as actually having one. Heightened security levels made getting around the base and accessing files a nightmare, and the sense of paranoia and pointed-fingers among the expedition could only go on so long until someone snapped. During his time in the field, the SEAL had spread his far share of mistruths to put the enemy off balance.

Regardless, it was due diligence to treat the matter seriously.

"I haven't had a chance to view the G-2 report from the incident," Hurley explained as he flicked through his files related to the McManus incident. "Has the security chief found any evidence that there actually is a spy in our midst?"

Achilles walked into the room wearing the Kryptek camo uniform that was reserved for the Command Cadre and the Stargate Teams. After nodding to everyone, he sat down, and opened his notebook. Just then the Warrant officer in their midst spoke. "I haven't had a chance to view the G-2 report from the incident... Has the security chief found any evidence that there actually is a spy in our midst?
"

Achilles looked around and then responded. "I was wondering that myself..." He put his pen down ans spoke some more. "Treason is a VERY serious charge to be made without evidence."

As Agent Olwin entered, Kelly looked up at the woman. The two had had a tenuous starting; Kelly was a little annoyed that the SGC woman had taken over her office, and her assistant, Maggie, who had told her she HATED this Val woman. Kelly wasn't at the point of "hate" just yet-Kelly hated very few people, actually, but she could see how Lt. LeFebvre might have a point. Kelly returned to her seat.

Good morning. Agent Hart is late; do you know if that's a habit of his? Kelly raised an eyebrow. Really? She didn't know, though, so she offered a shrug.

I have yet to meet Agent Hart, so I don't know. If it IS, it's a little distasteful, but nothing that a few years experience won't cure, I am sure. Kelly always tried to be diplomatic. Just as she finished, the man appeared, followed by NCO Hurley.

Hart spoke.

I guess I am not as late as some people... you should really put up a map or something around the base, General. You know like they have in the malls back home. That'd be nice. Captain Miller, I presume. Special Agent Hart, OSI. Kelly nodded once.

We were just discussing your tardiness. I will ask Lt. Lefebvre to print you a map, if that will help. You'll figure it out in a few days; if you get lost, ask a Marine; they're under strict orders to show you around. You as well, Agent Olwin. She smiled lightly. It was a head-trip your first few days if you weren't used to how a military installation was organized.

Finally, Hurley spoke.

I haven't had a chance to view the G-2 report from the incident...Has the security chief found any evidence that there actually is a spy in our midst?

Kelly shook her head. As the JAG, she got a full, daily report about it. Plus a bunch of emails, phone calls, and other miscellanious stuff to deal with on top of her, you know, ACTUAL work. Her gut told her that these accussations were false, but they'd be remiss in not at least doing an investigation.

I read his preliminary reports. There is no concrete evidence, no. There's only rumors, and whispers. The IOA and Homeworld Command are taking the allegations very seriously, and I suggest we do, as well. Not to be accusatory, here, Captain Jones, but from my professional point of view-make sure your nose is clean. They will come looking, and any hint of ANYTHING amiss will send off warning bells. What I want to know is has anyone actually spoken to either Major Callaghan or this MacManus character?! The fact that Major Callaghan defended him says something to ME. WHAT it said, she was still trying to figure out, but...maybe they were sniffing up the wrong tree with Captain Jones.

Everyone was now in the meeting and the doors had been closed by the two airmen with a nod from the General. It was time to set about the difficult task at hand, rooting out the allegations of a spy in the ranks.
"I haven't had a chance to view the G-2 report from the incident." Warrant Officer Hurley kicked things off, referring to both the McManus incident and the unscheduled dial out shortly after. "Has the security chief found any evidence that there actually is a spy in our midst?"
"I was wondering that myself..." Captain Achilles Jones, the base executive officer and the initially accused person chimed in next, "Treason is a VERY serious charge to be made without evidence."

Captain Kelly Miller was the first to answer him from across the table,
"I read his preliminary reports. There is no concrete evidence, none. There's only rumors, and whispers. The IOA and Homeworld Command are taking the allegations very seriously, and I suggest we do, as well." General Conway nodded in agreement with Kelly, "Not to be accusatory, here, Captain Jones, but from my professional point of view-make sure your nose is clean. They will come looking, and any hint of ANYTHING amiss will send off warning bells. What I want to know is has anyone actually spoken to either Major Callaghan or this McManus character?! The fact that Major Callaghan defended him says something to ME."

And now the eyes fell on the expedition leader for his input. He smiled and pushed the report to one side, clasping his hands together on the desk as he often did so,
"I too, feel Captain Jones is innocent here. Achilles, although unfortunate, seems to be the red herring that's been placed before us." He locked eyes with Achilles, hoping the man was coping well with the stress that being accused could bring.
"I had a private conversation with Callaghan after his little..." he had to choose the right words here, "stunt, in the 'gate room following our intruders incident. I believe he was just sticking up for his old friend. Sergeant McManus may be a traitor and quite frankly a lunatic but never-the-less, him and John served together back on Earth even before they joined the Stargate program. Bonds forged in the battlefield break not easily as they say."

He allowed the air to clear for a moment, before playing his next piece of the puzzle.
"Whilst I'm inclined NOT to believe the words of a madman tortured by an alien enemy we know little about, the evidence is still there in front of us. This file contains reports of suspicious activity around the base, things going missing, unauthorized access gained to out of bounds rooms, the list goes on... What has me concerned the most is the subroutine installed for that unscheduled dial out, as you all know the schematics of the base were sent via data burst to an unknown recipient in the Milky Way before we could shut it down."
He slid the folder back toward him again, opened it to a MALP picture of a barren landscape,
"This is the planet that was dialed, it's a desert as you can see. Whoever received the data used the location as a rendezvous. Which, of course, complicates matters even further. All of this happened after McManus left us, so that clears him from the picture at least in terms of exactly who our mole is."

The General's expression changed slightly, time to take action,
"Miller, Hurley and Jones. Change the base. I want military quarters relocated, supplies moved to different areas, hell move everything around except the infirmary. The least we can do is invalidate those schematics." Turning to Major Booth, he continued, "Major I'm sending a communication to Earth after this meeting, on it's way back I'd like The Sun Tzu to run a scan on that planet in the Milky Way, just to make sure we've not missed anything obvious. We'll then have her missions canceled until further notice so she can run orbital defense for us."
Last but not least, he turned to Agents Olwin and Hart,
"Agents, time for me to be frank with you. Captain Dominic Evans is, as you may know, secret intelligence service on behalf of the Queen. I've given him some tasks of his own. Touch base with him when you can and try to figure this one out. Before we go anywhere however, would either of you care to present the meeting with your reports?"

Liam took a seat and began to listen, he is good at listening but sometimes is selective at what he wants to hear... "We were just discussing your tardiness. I will ask Lt. Liam didn't answer just looked around, Liam has no evidence and if there is any it won't be on Earth. Liam also doesn't really know why Hurley is here, he may be a senior here but his specialty isn't exactly intelligence or anything to do with criminal investigations or NCIS since he is Navy.

That does catch Liam's attention and he does know that Callaghan and the lunatic did work together before Meropis and should there be anyone committing treason and with Callaghan's defense of the lunatic, they could be in on it together. Back on Earth, Liam knows that the investigation into these three will continue mostly from the NID and IOA but the Joint Chiefs of Staff are also looking into it but with his father being the Chairman, he had to stay out of it and of course defended his son.

"I had a private conversation with Callaghan after his little... stunt, in the 'gate room following our intruders incident. I believe he was just sticking up for his old friend. Sergeant McManus may be a traitor and quite frankly a lunatic but never-the-less, him and John served together back on Earth even before they joined the Stargate program. Bonds forged in the battlefield break not easily as they say." Exactly what Liam was thinking. What did McManus have to gain by claiming they are traitors? Maybe he felt hurt by something the Major did or thought he did by not saving him or by writing him off, but nevertheless every allegation needs to be looked into which comes back to Arson. We do know that there have been Goa'uld symbiotes that have infiltrated the Tok'ra, this one may be no different...

"Agents, time for me to be frank with you. Captain Dominic Evans is, as you may know, secret intelligence service on behalf of the Queen. I've given him some tasks of his own. Touch base with him when you can and try to figure this one out. Before we go anywhere however, would either of you care to present the meeting with your reports?" The General asked and Liam had nothing much but had to give an answer...

"Well, General... I looked into it under the authority of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and since the Stargate Program was and is mostly an Air Force SAP conducted on an Air Force Base, that gives me as an OSI agent full authority and jurisdiction over this matter. As such we did look into everything about the Major and the Captain as well as the Sergeant but obviously with more attention on recent missions involving the stargate program, which didn't help considering they were here for a little while and not on Earth. From what I could dig up, they are clean as far as I can tell back on Earth. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs told me to leave no stone unturned and he recused himself since the Major is his son. But I feel that the answer will be on that planet that the Sun Tzu will check out or with the dead Sergeant, of course since the man is crazy, we don't take his claim that serious, but an allegation of treason was made which means we have to look into it. The investigation will take time and of course we'll need to interview the Major and the Captain. But for now, the fact that the Sergeant made the allegation against his friend, the Major and the fact that the Major stuck up for him, did throw up some red flags for me, to that end we will need to search his quarters and maybe we'll find something there, same for the Captain." Liam said remaining impartial, he is no military man but he was in the OSI long enough to know he is seen the same way that cops see their internal affairs detectives, however that doesn't bother him, he has a job to do and he won't let anyone prevent him from doing it.

The Captain looked at every for a moment. After a brief pause his eyes glowed and an unnaturally deep voice could be heard from his mouth. Those who had never heard or seen a Goa'uld talk, would probably be taken back in surprise. "I will put together an algorithm to facilitate moving the rooms around to maximize the different-ness, for a lack of a better word of the room structure and organization." then Achilles' own voice spoke. "I will each of the department heads on the base know that they need to get their people and equipment ready to move."

Captain Miller reported that the preliminary report by the G-2 department was clean, and by the sounds of it, there wasn’t much - if any - concrete evidence that they had a traitor in their midst. Reports of missing supplies was by no means unheard off - theft by military personnel was a real problem in bases all across Earth. Unauthorised access to sensitive areas was troubling, but in many ways, a routine issue. The large number of personnel assigned to the base meant that keeping everyone’s permissions up to date was a daily challenge. It was the hijacking of their base computer which worried Hurley the most, more so that the hackers had been able to remotely control the Stargate. A purge of the computer system would probably be in order to return it to a clean slate.

The General put a plan in action to prepare the base. The Tok’ra symbiote inside Captain Jones - whose appearance always unsettled Michael - announced that he would organise the relocation of base infrastructure.

“I’ll consult with security and get all our operating procedures revised,” the CWO added. Relocating equipment and personnel within the base was a good first step, but given McManus’s knowledge of the workings of the base, the way folks acted around here also had to be changed. “Extra guards around sensitive areas, lock down some hallways and redirect traffic, mix up patrol rosters.” While they all sounded like minor details, together they would change the fabric of the base’s security approach and void the value of any inside knowledge the traitor may possess.

The agents had weighed in on the conversation with the key message being 'the investigation will take some time'. The General understood it all now, they knew something was amiss but there was no real proof anywhere, and he seriously doubted that any would come to light during the further investigation. All they could do was rearrange, reorganize and hope to move on. Captain Jones and the Tok'ra Arson responded to the General, further confirming his faith that the man was not in fact the alleged spy,
"I will put together an algorithm to facilitate moving the rooms around to maximize the different-ness, for a lack of a better word of the room structure and organization. I will each of the department heads on the base know that they need to get their people and equipment ready to move."

"Affirmative, good work. Any resources you need, feel free to use them." Replied Conway.
“I’ll consult with security and get all our operating procedures revised,” Michael Hurley added, “Extra guards around sensitive areas, lock down some hallways and redirect traffic, mix up patrol rosters.”
"Good idea, take what you need and work on it." The General nodded to Hurley, turning to the rest of the table he continued, "It sounds like we're no closer to finding out any more about these allegations. With McManus missing presumed dead and no obvious leads, we're in the dark here. All we can hope for is that this comes to a satisfactory conclusion. If we fail to identify a traitor, then let us hope there isn't one. The next few weeks will reveal all."

Before the General could continue, the meeting was interrupted by the briefing room doors opening and an airman rushing in. The man approached Conway and urgently whispered in his ear. The General's expression slowly changed from one of intent listening to grave concern.
"Thank you airman, as you were." He said softly to the young Air Force guard who scurried out of the room again.
"Gentleman, Ladies, it seems we have another issue on our hands," Conway said, rising to his feet and collecting his files, "I've just been informed the storm we're tracking could be a lot worse than we've anticipated. Shields are being raised shortly and we need to start preparations for a rough ride."
He stepped away from the table and pushed his chair in before turning to the rest of the senior command team who were still sitting, some of them looking a little bemused.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Batten down the hatches!" He said with a smile on his face, sparking everyone to life. The General was first to leave the room, making a beeline for Stargate Operations. The airman had also informed him of the radiation and the patrol heading out to save the Koan, two things that only served to complicate the morning.

Bursting into the busy command room the General began to bark orders,
"Get Jaya Bakshi and Peter Grover up here. No offence but we're going to need a highly skilled crew to whether this storm."

Kelly looked around. This was proceeding WAY faster-with a better outcome-than she'd originally expected. It was always nice when that happened, and she fully intended to spend the impeding storm wrapped up in her blanket, ignoring the outside world and instead immersed in whichever of the novels she'd lugged here caught her fancy today-hmm, maybe a reread of Madame Bovary. She looked alive, though, as a strange voice spoke. The symbiote that lived...within?...Captain Jones was...speaking.

Well, that was new. She shot a glance at Conway, but he seemed non-plussed. Then the man outside of the beast spoke up. I will each of the department heads on the base know that they need to get their people and equipment ready to move. She nodded.

I'll handle the actual logistics of it, once your...Mr. Arson gets the algorthim finished. I can get a work party organized; I have a couple of Airmen needing to work off parking tickets anyway. She said the last part with a sigh. WHEN was command going to realize that it was kind of impossible for people to pay parking tickets-even the ones gotten on base-from a billion lightyears away?! If she were any other person, she'd have shot someone by now. So yes, the two Airmen who were in trouble, and maybe a couple of Marines. They needed a SeaBee or five around here, actually.

Then, a male scurried in and whispered to Conway. Kelly was piqued; what was going on?

They're PORTHOLES, Jason, and I am a Marine. I don't batten down ANYTHING; that's what the Navy is for... She let out a sigh, but turned around to the people spilling out of the briefing room.

You heard the General, to your stations. Captain Jones, please follow me. She led him down the hall towards her office. They could use it for Arson to do whatever it was he did, and then she could speak to the Captain one on one. She'd had yet to have TIME to do a formal interview-there wouldn't be one today, either, but at least a few words would ease her mind.
