You should pick up this email upon your return to active duty on Meropis.
I just want you to know that we sent a MALP back to the planet. We had to get Captain Oliver back to Earth and on life support a-sap. That's why we didn't dial the gate immediately, but given 10-15 minutes or so we had eyes on the surface.
John, McManus wasn't there. Oberon was... He had been shot. From behind it seems. The place was crawling with Etruscan warriors and the city you visited seemed to have gone, possibly a city-ship that had launched? They took out our MALP and we've sealed the address off on our computers.
I'm sorry. If he's out there, he's alive. I'm sure of it.
