	Outstanding Airman of the Year Ribbon	The Outstanding Airman of the Year Ribbon is awarded to any enlisted member of the U.S. Air Force who is nominated by their Major Command, Field Operating Agency, or Direct Reporting Unit for competition in the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year Program. The Outstanding Airman of the Year program recognizes 12 enlisted members from a cross section of Air Force Career fields. Nominated personnel compete in one of three categories Airman, Non-commissioned Officer, and Senior Non-commissioned Officer. Nominations are based only on the member's performance and achievement for the prior calendar year. 	Air Force Recognition Ribbon	To receive the Air Force Recognition Ribbon, a service member must receive a designated trophy, plaque, or other award (such as the Sijan Leadership Award) through an achievement as specified by Air Force regulations. 	Armed Forces Reserve Medal	The medal recognizes service performed by members of the reserve components and is awarded to both officers and enlisted personnel. The medal is considered a successor award to the Naval Reserve Medal and the Marine Corps Reserve Ribbon, which were discontinued in 1958 and 1967 respectively. If the medal is awarded for periods of service, it is accompanied by an hourglass device. Depending on the length of service, a bronze, silver, gold, or bronze and gold hourglass are worn on the suspension ribbon and service ribbon, indicating 10, 20, 30, or 40 years of service respectively. If the medal is awarded in connection with a mobilization, it is accompanied by an "M" device. Service And Training Awards

	Army Sea Duty Ribbon	It may be awarded to active duty soldiers who complete two cumulative years of sea duty on a Class A or B United States Army Vessel. Duty aboard U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy Military Sealift Command, NOAA vessels, or aboard Army leased or foreign and non–military vessels may also qualify if soldiers serving on those vessels have a formally assigned primary mission that is accomplished underway, are in an active status, and are approved for creditable sea service by the Career Sea Pay Office. U.S. Army Reserve and U.S. Army National Guard soldiers must have two creditable years in a U.S. Army watercraft unit, including a minimum of 25 days underway annually as well as two annual training exercises underway on a Class A or B army vessel; or a 90-day deployment aboard an army vessel underway. Subsequent awards are authorized upon the completion of additional qualifying periods of sea duty. For mobilized soldiers, one year of sea duty as a mobilized soldier will be credited toward one creditable year as long as minimum underway requirements are met. - USAR
	Army Overseas Service Ribbon	It is presented to any member of the United States Army who completes a standard overseas tour of duty. In the 11 December 2006 revision of AR 600-8-22 (Military Awards), the Army eliminated the policy which had restricted the awarding of the Overseas Service Ribbon when another campaign or service medal is awarded. - USAR
	Army Reserve Overseas Training Ribbon	Presented to drilling members of the Army Reserve and National Guard. The Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon was approved in 1984 and is presented to any member of the drilling reserves who completes 10 or more consecutive days of active duty for training outside the contiguous United States. - USAR
	Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon	The Sea Service Deployment Ribbon is granted to any member of the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps assigned to a deployable unit (e.g., a ship (including submarines), aircraft squadron, air wing or air group, detachment, battalion, Marine Expeditionary Unit, Marine Air Ground Task Force, or other unit type that operates away from its assigned homeport) and is forward-deployed for a period of either 90 consecutive days or two periods of at least 80 days each within a given 12-month period; or 6 months stationed overseas in a forward deployed location. Staffs of embarked Destroyer Squadrons (DESRONs), Amphibious Squadrons (PHIBRONs), Amphibious Readiness Groups (ARG), Expeditionary Strike Groups (ESGs), Carrier Strike Groups (CSGs) and similar units deployed within time period requirements are also eligible for award. - USMC & USN
	Air Force Overseas Short Tour Service Ribbon	The Air Force Overseas Short Tour Service Ribbon is awarded for less than two years of duty or as directed by Air Force policies. Normally, the Short Tour Service Ribbon is awarded for a permanent duty assignment of at least 300 days within an 18-month time span; such assignments are generally served unaccompanied by family members, though a short tour assignment need not be unaccompanied. Historically, most Short Tour Service Ribbons were awarded for service in South Korea, by far the most common short tour assignment in the USAF. Since June 2003, Airmen serving in hostile environments for 181 days or more qualified for the Short Tour Service Ribbon under a temporary exception to rules outlined in AFI 36-2110. - USAF
	Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon	The award is authorized for certain acts of non-combat meritorious service, for which no other service medal or ribbon is authorized. The four main areas of eligibility, for the presentation of the Special Operations Service Ribbon, are listed as follows: Coast Guard operations of a special nature involving multiple agency involvement pertaining to national security or law enforcement. Coast Guard operations of a special nature in support of special events drawing large media interest and public attention. Coast Guard operations or involvement with foreign government in all areas of saving life and property at sea. Coast Guard operations of assistance for friendly and/or developing nations.
	Navy Arctic Service Ribbon	Awarded to officers and enlisted personnel for twenty-eight days, consecutive or non-consecutive, above the Arctic Circle after 1 January 1982. For personnel working at remote ice camps or divers working under the ice, each day of duty will count as two days when determining award eligibility. No more than one day of credit can be counted for flights in or out during any 24-hour period. Marine Corps personnel undergoing annual cold weather training above the Arctic Circle do not qualify for additional credit. The ribbon is issued for one time service only and there are no devices authorized for additional periods of Arctic service. The Antarctic equivalent of the Arctic Service Ribbon is the Antarctica Service Medal. The ribbon is worn after the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and before the Navy Reserve Sea Service Ribbon for Navy personnel. For Marine Corps personnel it is worn before the Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon. - USMC & USN
	Coast Guard Sea Service Ribbon	Awarded to those members of the Coast Guard who serve more than twelve cumulative months of sea duty on board a U.S. Coast Guard cutter, attached to a Fleet Training Group, or on board certain other Coast Guard vessels and non-Coast Guard vessels (i.e., U.S. Navy warships with a Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) embarked) that are under official Coast Guard orders. Additional awards, displayed as service stars, may be awarded for a further three years of sea service.
	Naval Reserve Sea Service Ribbon	The Navy Reserve Sea Service Ribbon was created in May 1986 and is awarded to any member of the U.S. Navy Reserve (formerly U.S. Naval Reserve) who, while serving as a drilling Selected Reservist (SELRES) or a Training and Administration of the Reserve/Full Time Support (TAR/FTS) officer or sailor, completes twenty-four cumulative months of duty on board a U.S. Navy Reserve Force surface ship or assigned to a deployable/regularly deploying U.S. Navy Reserve Force Aviation Squadron (RESFORON). A 3/8 inch bronze star is awarded for the second through the fifth award of the ribbon; a 3/8 inch silver star is worn for six awards in lieu of five bronze stars. - USN
	Air Force Overseas Long Tour Service Ribbon	The Air Force Overseas Long Tour Service Ribbon is issued for completion of a standard overseas service assignment of two years or more in length with additional awards denoted by oak leaf clusters. Long tour credit is awarded for completion of an overseas long tour (2 years) prescribed by Air Force Instructions, or to any member assigned to a United States or overseas location who is subsequently sent under temporary duty orders (to include combat tours) for 365 or more days within a 3-year time frame. - USAF
	Coast Guard Restricted Duty Ribbon	The award recognizes those Coast Guard personnel who have completed a permanent tour of duty at specific shore units where accompanying dependents are not authorized. Where a service member is assigned without his or her dependent family members, the duty status is known as "unaccompanied." Standard unaccompanied duty tours are normally one to two years in length and occur in remote duty locations such as Greenland and the Arctic, and in combat areas. The Restricted Duty Ribbon is awarded at the conclusion of the unaccompanied tour. In the case of overseas restricted duty stations, personnel who are eligible to receive the Restricted Duty Ribbon are not eligible to receive the Coast Guard Overseas Service Ribbon for the same period. - USCG
	Navy & Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon	The ribbon is awarded to any member of the Navy or Marine Corps who completes one year of consecutive or cumulative duty at a permanent overseas duty station. For members of the reserve components, the first award is authorized upon completion of either 30 consecutive or 45 cumulative days of overseas active duty for training. For subsequent awards, the criteria of award for reservists are the same as the active duty members criteria.
	Coast Guard Overseas Service Ribbon	It is awarded to active duty members on a permanent assignment and who successfully complete a tour of duty of at least 12 months at an overseas shore-based duty station or on board a cutter permanently assigned to an overseas area. It is also awarded to reservists who are permanently assigned and have satisfactorily completed a minimum of 36 cumulative days of service at an overseas duty station during each 12-month period of the total tour of duty. Duty on board U.S.-based deploying ships or units does not qualify. Personnel who are eligible to receive the Coast Guard's Restricted Duty Ribbon are not eligible to receive the Overseas Service Ribbon for the same period. - USCG
	Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon	The ribbon is awarded to any member of the Air Force who completes a standard contingency deployment. The regulations of the Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon define a deployment as either forty-five consecutive days or ninety non-consecutive days in a deployed status. Temporary duty orders also qualify towards the ninety-day time requirement. For deployments exceeding 45–90 days, a single Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon will be awarded for the entire time frame rather than issuing multiple awards for the same period of deployed service. For those service members who serve in designated combat zones (those receiving hostile fire pay) while deployed (with or without actually participating in actual combat), a gold frame, which the Air Force refers to as a gold border, may be attached to the AFESR basic ribbon. The gold border is issued as a one-time award only, regardless of the number of combat operations in which a service member is involved. - USAF
	Air Force Longevity Service Award	The Air Force Longevity Service Award is awarded for completing four years of Active, Air Force Reserve, or Air National Guard service. For members of the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard, creditable service must have been in a drilling status with regular attendance of at least minimum monthly weekend drills and annual training. Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard mobilized to full-time active duty continue to accrue eligibility in the same manner as active duty Air Force personnel. Service as a student at a United States Service Academy, typically the USAF Academy, is also creditable so long as the member graduated. The ribbon is awarded to both officers and enlisted personnel, in contrast to service stripes which are only provided to enlisted members of the military. - USAF
	Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon	To be awarded the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon, a service member must be assigned to one of the United States Navy’s Major Recruiting Commands and must complete a standard three year tour of duty. Award of the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon is open to all branches of the Navy, including reservists on active duty for special work (ADSW) programs. All those qualifying for the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon must receive a recommendation from their Commanding officer before the ribbon is presented. - USN
	Air Force Recruiter Ribbon	Personnel graduating from the Air Force Recruiting School may wear the Air Force Recruiter Ribbon immediately provided that the service member is serving in a United States Air Force Command. After thirty six months of recruiting duty the award may be awarded permanently providing the service member’s tour as a recruiter as been free of disciplinary action. - USAF
	Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon	The Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon is awarded to Marine Corps officers and enlisted personnel who complete a standard 36 month tour in a United States Marine Corps Recruiting Command. For enlisted personnel, a military occupational specialty (MOS) of 8411 must be held for the Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon to be bestowed. Officers must hold a billet as the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, Operations Officer or Officer Selection Officer of a Marine Corps Recruiting Command. Local command recruiters and recruiting aides are not eligible for the award. - USMC
	Coast Guard Recruiting Service Ribbon	The award is retroactive to January 1, 1980 and is presented to any member of the Coast Guard who completes a standard two year tour as a Coast Guard Recruiter. - USCG
	Air Force Military Training Instructor Ribbon	Three years of service as a Drill Instructor (or equivalent) at recruit training or officer instruction school. - USAF
	Navy Recruit Training Service Ribbon	Three years of service as a RDC (or equivalent) at recruit training or officer instruction school. - USN
	Marine Corps Drill Instructor Ribbon	To qualify, a Marine must hold the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 0911 or must have served a successful tour of duty in one of the following positions: Recruit Training Battalion Commander, Executive Officer, S-3, or Sergeant Major. Recruit Training Company Commander, Series Commander, or Assistant Series Commander. Marine Corps Officer Candidate Company First Sergeant, Company Gunnery Sergeant, or Platoon Commanders. Naval Aviation Officer Candidate School First Sergeant, Battalion Gunnery Sergeant, or Class Drill Instructors USMC
	Marine Corps Combat Instructor Ribbon	Successful completion of a tour at the School of Infantry East or West. - USMC
	Navy Ceremonial Guard Ribbon	Complete a standard tour of duty with the Navy Ceremonial Guard. - USN
	Marine Corps Security Guard Ribbon	Thirty-six months of service as a Marine Corps Security Guard at an American embassy or consulate in a foreign country. - USMC
	Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon	Is issued by the U.S. Army for completion of any prescribed noncommissioned officer development courses. The first award of the NCO Professional Development Ribbon is issued for completion of the Warrior Leader Course (WLC), formerly called the "Primary NCO Course", "Combat Army Course", or "Primary Leadership Development Course" (PLDC). When a soldier completes additional schooling such as the Advanced Leaders Course, and Senior Leaders Course, an award numeral is worn on the ribbon to denote subsequent satisfactory completion of those courses. - USAR
	Air Force NCO PME Graduate Ribbon	The ribbon is awarded to non-commissioned officers of the United States Air Force for completion of prescribed non-commissioned officer professional development programs. Approved programs are the NCO Preparatory Course, Airman Leadership School, NCO Leadership School, NCO Academy, and Senior NCO Academy. Select professional development programs of other services may also be counted for award of the ribbon. Eligible courses are the Army Sergeants Major Academy, Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, and Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy. The ribbon is only awarded to individuals who complete the course in-residence and may not be awarded to those who only complete the correspondence course. - USAF
	Air Force Honor Graduate Ribbon	The ribbon is awarded to graduates of Air Force basic training who have obtained an honor graduate designation and demonstrate excellence in all areas of academic and military training. - USAF
	Coast Guard Honor Graduate Ribbon	The Basic Training Honor Graduate Ribbon is presented to the service member who graduates top of their basic training instruction class. - USCG
	Army Service Ribbon	Completion of any Advanced Individual Training. - USAR
	Air Force Training Ribbon	Completion of initial accession training. - USAF
