"I dont think I get you, Doc. If you're asking what happened to them fellas, then I'm afraid I can offer no answer. A lot of them were hiding when we were leaving, I guess. And when we got back there was no sign that they'd ever been there. My guess is that they just up and left like those creepy crawlers of Goa Ulds. Nothing bad about Captain Achilles, of course. I'm pretty sure he and his creepy crawler saved my life back when those other aliens attacked the city." John said.
He just nodded at the part that telling his friends' parents would be difficult. As if he didn't know that already. Hell, it was already difficult enough. But, if he wanted easiness, he should have joined the Army. Marines make do.
"Actually, her mother has been really nice about it. I can see her pretty much when I want to. Hell, she even offered me her couch when I'm in town in order to save money..." Hell, she had even offered to pick him up and drive him around if he needed. She really was too nice about it. If he had been in her shoes, John would have been way less gracious.
"Geez, Doc. You make me feel bad for being a little glad I didn't know of her until now." A slight chuckle escaped from him. It was only a joke, really. Had he known, he would probably have wanted to be there all the time.
"Unless there's something else, Doc" John said as he stood up. He gave the man a respectful nod before he turned around. With a few quick steps, he was out of the office. He turned his wrist to look at his watch. 1045 hours. Time for early lunch, or some time on the range before normal lunchtime.
