(Placeholder until Kelly and Jones have something to DO!)
1000 Hours
Kelly's Office
Meropis
She showed the Captain into her office, and settled her tall, but lean, frame behind her desk. Without a word, nor a discernable look on her face, she opened her drawer, pulled out a notebook and pen, and then sighed deeply.
Look, Captain. From my legal point of view, IOA and Homeworld Command don't have a leg to stand on. However, that Olwin woman is a shark. She's going to be circling, looking for ANY sort of blood in the water...is that a clear analogy? Kelly was trying to impart to the man that while SHE and the rest of the staff didn't hold any of MacManus's claims to the water, that Olwin was a wild card. Kelly had seen her type before-the women that success had hardened, and for whom, interpersonal relationships took a backseat to getting ahead. Kelly had briefly feared becoming like that after John had died, but she'd managed to keep her head on her shoulders.
Do you have any ideas why MacManus fingered YOU?! Did you serve together on a mission gone bad? Flirt with his wife? She paused a beat, and ran a hand over her slacks. She needed to get a little deeper into the man's life. Finally, if there's ANYTHING I need to know, now is the time to tell me. She sighed again, and then smiled, standing.
But first, coffee? Lt. LeFebvre made some this morning before she left. I guaruntee it's Marine grade True Crude. It was a joke that Marine's didn't drink coffee unless thier sthingys could stir itself.
