Meropis
The redhead seemed very skeptical of the ability to create more ZedPMs he might have been but it was clear she didn't know him, it didn't matter like most people that doubted him she'd eat her words when he succeeded. "I suppose it's possible; but is it likely?!" Rodney scoffed.
"You clearly haven't be off Earth long." Rodney scoffed. He'd leave it there it was bad enough he answered her, if they managed to make more ZedPMs it would clearly allow them greater flexibility in operations besides the 304s would be able to far more than stand up to anything the might encounter from the Wraith including another Superhive, besides it's doubtful the Etruscan's had anything more powerful but if they did, a fleet of 304 battle cruisers powered by ZedPMs with the Asgard shielding and beam weapons would be damn near impossible to stop let alone add in Atlantis and Meropis with their drones and shields at full power.
As he then explained the radiation and the usefulness of studying it it seemed lost on her as did an understanding of ancient technology., though the use of her shield and the lie that it was actually up was a sign, they wouldn't run the city with the shield always up it was a colossal waste of power.
"My shield's always up, But I will stop all non-critical programs. It might not be many; General Conway has standing orders as to what I run and what I don't. I can cut access to the jumpers, perhaps, but I guarantee that the shields are up and will stay up."
Rodney sighed before speaking. "it's not your shield, it's the cities, and besides I wouldn't have been able to beam down if it were along with the fact you would waste so much damn power I would have one of the guards shoot you if you did. And the jumpers don't matter they are Ancient tech, they'll survive this storm without so much as a power flicker, the city maybe on secondary systems, but the jumpers don't carry enough power to effect or be effected by the storm. as for what the general said, well you'll just as usual explain to the military man why it cannot be so, if you like your non Ancient systems working after the storm you'll power them off." There now he had spilled it out to the short redhead he might be able to get some work done.
"So it's agreed then? Your research can wait until after the storm has passed, in fact i'll even help you with it. You can gather whatever data you need from the radiation thingy you mentioned and we all work together to make sure the base doesn't get flattened, right?"
"Provided the shield is up the base will be fine, but we might experience some bleed through from other realities if it gets at least as bad as I'm predicting." McKay waved his hand dismissively. "No appearance of people or objects," he said the next part quietly and quickly. "We might perceive other realities or times..." It seemed as though the other person who wasn't soldiery decided now to speak up.
"Wait, Temporal Radiation? You mean like Tachyon particles in Star Trek? I don't know if any of ya have ever watched Star Trek, But Tachyons weren't always good news." He'd watched star trek the ability of the writers to explain things was admirable though still incorrect even if some of their wild guesses are partly true.
"No, not like star trek, but still not good." Rodney didn't want to dignify that with too much of a response the man clearly didn't have the presence of a hard scientist, but still he couldn't explain himself to all these stupid people, doing it to the Irishwoman and Doctor Black was more that charitable on his part.
However they soon began a rant on who was going to save some locals, he wasn't particularly interested so he went back to console, he was already multitasking looking through the database and monitoring the storm. He listened only in when they decided to leave.
"Yes well have fun, I'll be monitoring this storm and preparing the city, so If I'm not here I'll be in the control room bossing around your tech monkeys, I'll radio you if you get into storm related danger, as for local inhabitant danger that is up to you." doctor McKay point indistinctly to his side before resuming his work.
