End of Episode Five Thread

The end of an episode is upon once again! This thread is dedicated to the wrapping up Episode Five "The Enemy Within" and the change-over to Episode Six and is worth following for updates, awards and promotions. We'll look to do one of these at the end of each episode to help keep it tidy and keep everything in one place for you.

There are of course plenty of out of mission threads to get stuck into if your episode thread has finished and you are waiting for number six. At time of writing it is just SM-1's story arc to go, in the meantime the staff team are busy at work putting together the plot for Episode Six (oh man does it look good!). Promotions, team changes and awards are on their way.

Although the following may not be 100% accurate to what would be issued in the forces, we have to remember that this is a science fiction RPG and for the purposes of having fun, the following awards have been discussed by staff and issued accordingly.

Lt. Thomas Hopper (KIA) -  Congressional Medal Of Honor. For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.
 Purple Heart. For being wounded or killed in any action against an enemy of the United States or as a result of an act of any such enemy or opposing armed forces.

Brigadier General Jason Conway -  Air Force Good Conduct Medal. For exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity in active Federal Military service.

Captain/Tok'ra Liaison Achilles Jones/Arson -  Navy Good Conduct Medal. For exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity in active Federal Military service.

Chief Warrant Officer Michael Hurley -  Navy Good Conduct Medal. For exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity in active Federal Military service.
Dr. Mikaere Glavish -  Exceptional Bravery Medal. For exemplary and courageous handling of an emergency by an individual who, independent of personal danger, has acted to prevent the loss of human life or U.S. government property.

Dr. Michael Black -  Exceptional Bravery Medal. For exemplary and courageous handling of an emergency by an individual who, independent of personal danger, has acted to prevent the loss of human life or U.S. government property.
 Department of State Secretary’s Award. In recognition of sacrifice of health or life, in the performance of official duties, namely health complications suffered as a result of an encounter with the Koan.

Technical Analyst Blueberry Yagami -  Exceptional Bravery Medal. For exemplary and courageous handling of an emergency by an individual who, independent of personal danger, has acted to prevent the loss of human life or U.S. government property.

Major Chicago Eastlyn -  Prisoner of War Medal. For being taken prisoner and held captive while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict against an opposing foreign force; while serving with friendly forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force to which the United States is not a belligerent.

 Air Force Meritorious Unit Award. For exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service, heroic deeds, or valorous actions.

Captain Dominic Evans -  Distinguished Service Order (DSO). Awarded for distinguished services during active operations against the enemy.

Jaffa Liaison, First Lt. Ahrima -  Exceptional Bravery Medal. For exemplary and courageous handling of an emergency by an individual who, independent of personal danger, has acted to prevent the loss of human life or U.S. government property.

Enseigne de vaisseau Maggie Lefebvre -  Exceptional Bravery Medal. For exemplary and courageous handling of an emergency by an individual who, independent of personal danger, has acted to prevent the loss of human life or U.S. government property.

Lt. James Mulholland - Distinguished Service Medal. Awarded for distinguished services during active operations against the enemy.



SM-2 Off-World Exploration Team
Major John Callaghan -  Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Awarded for meritorious service or achievement in either combat or noncombat situations based on sustained performance or specific achievement of a superlative nature.

Sergeant Ryan Alexander -  Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. For exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity in active Federal Military service.

Lance Corporal Tom Chambers - Bravery Medal. Awarded for acts of bravery in hazardous circumstances, namely in fire fights against enemy on the base of Meropis.



BC-304 Sun Tzu Crew
Executive Officer Major Shawn Booth -  Air Force Good Conduct Medal. For exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity in active Federal Military service.

Weapons Officer Flight Lieutenant Ryan Decker - Distinguished Service Medal. Awarded to personnel of the Australian Defense Force for distinguished leadership in action including his innovative ideas to neutralize an Etruscan weapon.

Best Character Award (Episode Five)
Congratulations to Fiona Maccafferty who was voted Best Character of the episode and wins $2000 (in game money). Second place honorable mention goes to Ryan Alexander for an excellent debut mid-episode.

Best Overall Thread Award (Episode Five)
Congratulations to the base personnel nerds team from Episode Five for winning best overall thread. Awards and $500 for each thread participant goes to the following; Fiona Maccafferty Michael Black Elly Clark Aear Charter Mikaere Glavish Thomas Hopper. Second place honorable mention goes to the 'gate room thread where McManus took the senior command team prisoner.

Best Quote of the Episode Award (Episode Five)
Technically this one was a draw between Mikaere Glavish and Fiona Maccafferty for quotes during the best overall thread for Episode Five. As Maccafferty had won character of the episode, staff decision was made to break the tie and award this to Glavish for the following quote. Congratulations for the award and $1000 in game money and an honorable mention goes to Maccafferty for her infamous 'cute hoor' quote.

Best Individual Post Award (Episode Five)
Another very close call here, as voted for by yourselves. It was a tie between Michael Black confronting his 'changes' and his new relationship with the Koan and Andrew McManus revealing why he is doing what he's doing. Again, in the interests of fairness and because Black won an award for Best Overall Thread, the winner is McManus for this post stargatemeropis.proboards.com/post/7276 with an honorable mention to Michael Black.
An award and $1000 go to the character and the reason behind the votes are as follows;
"Is McManus a threat that will not go away, or is he simply trying to right the wrongs of others. This post makes me question at times is he truly the villain or just the tragic hero. And while I hate the question, part of me truly fears the answer to it." - Ahrima/Erick
