Stargate Operations
Meropis
As with many things on Meropis, within a matter of seconds the situations had flipped itself over. Hurley was the first to react, Conway extended a hand half in defense and half to aid in calming the situation. The lights had shut off and their guest had reacted... Badly. There was a pause, Conway took a mental picture of the absurdness set before him. Lucky was poised with an alien weapon she'd morphed from that darn pendant and seemed to be glowing, in slow motion and illuminated by the glow Hurley and Miller were stepping back and away from her and all the while the smell of fresh roast poultry drifted through the air.
"Please, Lucky. This is not a trap. I had no idea that was going to happen. Hold your fire for the sake both our peoples." The General pleaded. He tapped his ear-piece to open a connection through to the control room. The airwaves were heaving with chatter, it seemed that whatever was going on, it was base wide. Conway was able to over-ride it and cut through using command authorization on his ear-piece,
"General Conway to 'gate ops. Sit-rep please, what the hell just happened?"
"Sir, we have no idea. The city just went into quarantine which explains the doors... As for the lighting, we can't explain it at this time, all power just seems to have just vanished somewhere. The ZPMs and generators are still active but nothings getting through." Came the crackled reply.
"Thanks, Grover. Can we get these doors open at least?"
"No Sir... They seem to have vacuumed sealed themselves, over-ride commands aren't working. We're locked out from an unidentified auxiliary control panel somewhere else in the city."
"Alright, keep working on it. Conway out."
He turned back to the other three in the room with him.
"Something else in this city has triggered a lock down, and something is drawing out our power. At this time, we can't get the doors open. Lucky, I'm sorry. We'll just have to sit tight." He stated, mostly for the benefit of their guest. At least we have chicken, he thought.
